That pearl diamond tiara would look beautiful on Crown Princess Mary. She needs another substantial tiara other than the ruby one.
 
Auction of items of the late Comtesse de Paris. The part of the historical tiara was sold 25000 euros. I hope a member of the Orleans family bought it back.

You mean the comb tiara that for some reason lost its sides? I imagine it can't really be used as a tiara any more as sadly it looks rather odd. I doubt the present count has the means to buy it back. He has no employment and 5 - soon 6- children to support. I don't think there are many other non-reigning families that lost so much in such a short time without any revolutions to blame.

No offence meant :flowers: but Princess Marie zu Wied is still alive to this day. It's her husband the Hereditary Duke Friedrich of Württemberg who sadly died in a car accident in 2018 though.

And actually they have never been official to referred to as hereditary Duke and hereditary Duchess,

It was probably a typo and the Dowager Princess must be selling off some jewels and heirlooms.

I agree, these would be worthy additions to the jewel boxes of Mathilde, Mary or Mette-Marit, to use and to share with the children.

You are right, the Belgians do need to get a nice amethyst demi-parure. Personally, I think amethysts probably work best with diamonds, so I hope they get a proper one with a fair smattering of diamonds interspersed.
