The Nobel Prize 2002 - 2012

I remember reading that Queen Silvia's Nobel dress is usually one she has worn earlier in the year. If so I would love to see her in the dress she wore to the King of Thailand's 60th of his accession. I love the purple!

Agreed RoyalKnottie, that dress was simply breathtaking! I wonder how Victoria would look in the 9 prong tiara? And would the Queen let her wear it?

Amethyst tiara.
Thats quite lovely tiara, isn't it?

Oooh, I didn't even think of that one! I love that tiara.

Amethyst is surely better than 4 buttons or the steel Tiara, but for me it´s only "Leuchtenberg light"...also nice blue stones, but it looks so "flat", so as if one would carry a pie/cake on the head. If it would be up to me, it would be high time for a "new" tiara out of the Bernadotte treasure. Victoria is long enough in the business to deserve it...

Also, she has her own tiara- Princess Victoria's tiara, she wore on her 18 birthday. It's quite ugly, but I have bad feel- we haven't seen it for long time, so...

I am looking forward to the festivities. Will there be a live broadcasting of the banquet and is it possible to watch it via internet? I would be very glad if anybody could help me. Thanks, Yolène.

On the official website of the Nobel Foundation www.nobelprize.org you can watch the prize cermony in the concert hall live, but they usually don´t broadcast the banquette, i guess it´s the same this year wich is a shame beacuse that´s atleast my favourite part, even though i can watch it live on swedish television.

I'm watching it right now and His Majesty looks might grumpy. My computer is being very slow so it's only coming in bits. I can see one of the girls shoulder, I think it may be Madeleine, but it also may be Victoria. I can't tell. It looks like a dark blue dress. I can't wait for pictures!

Madeleine is in dark blue, Victoria seems to be in a bright pink/magenta color...Lillian in a pink/rose, and HM in whiteish?...They had a great shot of Madeleine, she looked GORGEOUS!

Yes, Madeleine is wearing a dark blue dress. She looks beautiful.

Madeleines dress are wonderful I love her hair... also, Victoria's and queen's dress look like recycled.

Thanks at all for your information. What a pitty that I can't see the banquette.
I also think that Victoria recycled her gown (Australia?). Have fun!

What a pity they don't show CP Victoria more. Ladies look beautiful (princess Lilian looks really nice, the dress suits her). I hope there will be a chance to see them all better.

it's end. Actually, I wish we could have livestream to banquet! :)

I wish it also, it was such a small ceremony, but really good, I like all the speaches about the laureates and the musica was great too, all the royal family were great especially crown princess victoria and princess madeleine.

They all look great but I particularly love Princess Lilian's dress.

I'm so happy Silvia wore the Sapphire tiara; its my favorite. Madeleine looks stunning! Its a pity Victoria didn't wear a new dress.

Princess Lilians dress is much beautiful and 91!!! She see out good healt and tiara is perceft!!! More photos on Princess Lilian.!! More photos royal family. Princess Lilians dress 30th anniversary big day!!! She married prince Bertil after three day!!! They married 7 december 1976 and 10 december Princess Lilians first engemang in Nobel Prize 1976. The big day 30th anniversary on Princess Lilians dress!!!!

I hoped Victoria would wear a new dress. Even if I love the red dress I think its very boring to wear a old dress to such a special event as Nobel.
Madeleine looks cute, but perhaps a little boring. Its nice to see her in darker colours then she usually wears but its just something "missing"...

Silvia... o my. Is that a tent?! What happend to the arms?!

Thanks purple_platinum.

I like this gown and tiara which Victoria wear again.

Anyone has better photo of Madeleine beautiful gown? Btw. she wear beautiful necklace today.

That necklace was worn by Victoria a few times...
also Victorias dress is worn 3rd time. I'm wondering if she spent her own budget and she couldn't buy new dress  last time she recycled a lot.
I think Madeleine was the best dressed person on ceremony. I dislike queen's outfit- idea was beautiful, but it didn't match to her.

Madeleine looked really fantastic! It seems she has gotten, what the event is about (about the laureates of course ;) but the whole circus wouldn´t be half as much "prestige", if it wouldn´t be done this special way) I though think about skipping next years NPA, because I felt so disappointed by Victoria. How could she recycle this dress AGAIN, ok it´s not her worst...but we have seen it at least 3 times before...and I don´t like the plastic looking skirt with the strange mix of colours...and all together it´s typically Lars Wallin, who makes only "girly" dresses...and this doesn´t do a woman AND crown princess of nearly 30 years justice. Didn´t like her hairdo either...and also not the earrings. If I would have had tomatoes at home, I would have thrown them at the screen...as cruel and silly this may sound ;) After many fantastic evening appearances of late I had really high hopes for Victoria...and now this. I think I need to found a self help group with HenriM. And in the light of my disappointment I hope, that Victoria generally will go back to dull, so that never ever again a spark of hope could come up...

Is Victoria ALWAYS recycling her dresses???
I don't understand, she is the CROWNprincess. She can wear a new dress, once in a while..

They all look great thanks for the pics

No. Not always  only last time she recycled almost everything what is in her warderobe :ROFLMAO: also, she wore this dress 2 or 3 years ago on nobel for first time
I'm just kidding. I hope next year we will see something new and interesting on her. ;)

I don't understand how the Crown Princess Victoria doesn't have a new dress but her sister does. I somehow feel her Father is still annoyed that she is going to be Queen over her brother and somehow limits her access to new gowns and work wear.

Maybe it is Victoria herself. Perhaps she just isn't into the dress-up aspect as much as her Mother and her sister.

My guess is, that this is simply Victoria´s little "look, how modest, I am" show. Doing it via recycling is the easy way out. Because it´s easily noticeable. But IMO a good dress doesn´t cost the world. One vacation in a luxury hotel less and you can get two

My opinion:

Lillian: Stunning dress! I like it!

Madeleine: wow! The dress of the evening! She looked great! Hair, Tiara, Dress. Just perfect!

Victoria: Nice dress... but a recycled dress on the Nobel event? :ermm:

Silvia: I didn't really like her dress! I don't like the sleeves....Compared to her other Nobel-dresses it is very disappointing for me...

Perhaps Victoria is not wearing a new dress because she has had a number of formal engagement during the year and have worn new dresses to several of them. I highly doubt the guests at the Nobel festivities scan royal websites to see what the Queen and Princesses have worn to other functions so they can discuss whether the dresses are new or recycled. The dress is most likely very beautiful when seen live.
