You may wonder what's actually inside the time-capsual, that cannot be opened for 100 years.
A letter written by thirteen CEOs and politicians. Coins. Frontpages from various newspapers and a 1.000 DKK note.

- Don't worry about the note. It's no longer valid. Over the past few years a lot of people have been busy exchanging their stash of 1.000 DKK notes to notes of lesser value and other things. Which was easier said than done, because they couldn't just exchange them in the bank. The banks are obliged to report handling of notes over a certain (pretty modest) amount to the tax-man. Some tried buying individual bags of sweets and paying for each with 1.000 DKK but many shops refused accepting these notes, unless the amount was actually close to 1.000 DKK.
The whole idea of course being to avoid money laundering and I'm afraid not everybody managed to exchange all their notes...:ROFLMAO:

His Majesty the King received today Sweden's Parliament Speaker Andreas Norlén in the Knights Hall in Christian VII's Palace in Amalienborg 🇩🇰

King Frederik presided over the Council of State at Christiansborg Castle this morning, October 2:

The Council Chamber at Christiansborg Castle was prepared early this morning for today's Council of State, where the country's ministers have this morning presented the legislative proposals that the government intends to present to His Majesty the King. The king presides over the Council of State, which consists of the regent, the heir to the throne, if he is of legal age, and all government members. At today's meeting, however, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was absent, as the Crown Prince is currently abroad. The meetings of the Council of State are prepared by the Legal Department of the Royal Household, which generally assists and advises the King in carrying out his function as head of state.

This morning, October 23, King Frederik participated in the inauguration of the Gefion supercomputer at the Vilhelm Lauritzens Terminal in Kastrup:

That is actually very important.

DK is investing a lot of money in regards to being among the countries up there in front when it is about AI and super computers. To the extent that DK can afford it and has the resources. We can hardly compete with countries like USA or China.
Fortunately the political and public consensus here is that those countries that are not up there in regards to AI, are way back there.
DK is a small country, we can't afford to lack behind.

Sounds very interesting.

Another event for Frederik today, unannounced and not on the calendar yet.
"The Chairman of the EU Military Committee, General Robert Brieger, is in Denmark and was received earlier today by His Majesty the King in Frederik VIII's Palace in Amalienborg 🇪🇺 The EU's supreme military chief was accompanied by the chief of defense during today's visit."

Wonderful! And great that we got a couple of photos of the engagement! Love to see it. Hope both his unannounced engagements are added to the calendar after the fact at least.

This is absolutely significant, which is why this military chief is received the King himself - who also happens to be the Commander-in-chief.
As you may know EU is stepping up big time in regards to military investments and building factories for producing weapons, equipment and especially ammunition.
That is being coordinated and funded as well as decided among the EU countries.
The aim being to secure the defense of Europe, especially EU.
Giving support to Ukraine and increase that support.
Equipping the EU countries, most of which are also NATO countries and making sure the EU countries are as self-sufficient with weapons, equipment, spare-parts and ammunition as possible and to do that ASAP.
To be prepared for a future where NATO may de facto have collapsed or is no longer a reliable entity and here a EU-military alliance, which already exists, is an alternative.
To prepare in case Putin comes up with funny ideas. A major war in Europe now being a real risk and perhaps as soon as next year, around May. Or possible around 2028.
- In other words: The old nightmare scenario. Europe is rearming to the teeth, independent of USA, and in real preparation for war.

The Nordic countries are interesting in that respect, because we are now in the latter stages of combining our air forces. I.e. mutual use of air bases.
Mutual maintenance.
Sharing depots, repair facilities, spare parts etc.
Buying new weapons, ammunition and equipment as a bulk of countries.
Developing new weapons, systems, software as a block.
Common training excersizes.
Common command structure - in peacetime at least.
Mutual coverage of each others territory. I.e Finnish fighters being scrambled to intercept say Russian planes to the far north in Norway. Or Norwegian planes following Russian bombers down the west coast of Jutland.

Based on the experience gathered doing this, it is the plan that this co-operation will extend to our armies and navies.

EU as a whole and groups of EU countries are very interested in learning from the lessons we have had in forming similar military blocks in other parts of EU. Because modern warfare is way too complicated and way too expensive for each country to have their own little air force, their own little army and their own little navy that each have to do everything. Better to let individual countries contribute with something that is state of that art, and that will be a piece in a EU-military puzzle.

On top of that EU would like to know when and how fast, in this case DK, can set up a production that can cover say 30 % of the EU need in say boots, or detonators for missiles and so on.
