That tiara dates from the 19th century and had a guide price of $24,000 to $36,000
It sold for $120,650!
It would have been a wonderful addition to the Belgian jewel chest.

Lovely tiara / necklace. I agree, this would have been a great addition to the Belgian or Danish collection.

As revealed by Vincent Meylan and Carol Woolton, the Anglesey Diamond Négligé is going on Auction at Sotheby’s in Geneva in November.

An heirloom of the Marquesses of Anglesey for over a century and a half, it is believed that the Négligé may be a part of the legendary Collier de La Reine at the heart of the ‘Affair of the Diamond Necklace’ and the subsequent French Revolution.

This is really a spectacular piece. I had never seen it before but it looks indeed somewhat simular to the famous necklace of (not) Marie Antoinette.
