I think Pau Gasol will be the next "Prince of Asturias" of sport after this victory from Spanish basket team.
What about Rafael Nadal? Anyway, he is very young so he still have enough time to receive the Award.mapian said:I think Pau Gasol will be the next "Prince of Asturias" of sport after this victory from Spanish basket team.
We'll find out in the next few days I think that the jury is due to meet within the week. But, IMHO, if it's a tennis player they're going to award, they might give it to non-Spaniard: Andre Agassi is retiring this year after a 21-year successful careerLaChicaMadrilena said:What about Rafael Nadal? Nice instinct kartheina , lula say that Agassi will be one of the candidates for the Prize.kartheina said:But, IMHO, if it's a tennis player they're going to award, they might give it to non-Spaniard: Andre Agassi is retiring this year after a 21-year successful career
Yipee! This is great! I could be clairvoyant Kidding aside, I hope that Andre would get it. He's not only a legendary tennis player but also a humanitarian -- he would make a very good awardee. Also, if he wins, it would mean the return in Oviedo of a former Prince of Asturias awardee in his wife, Steffi Graff (1999). That would be very specialmtbcm said:Nice instinct kartheina , lula say that Agassi will be one of the candidates for the Prize, here.

Is this supposed to be an international sports award or does the winners has to have a connection to Spain? If it is an international award it is not very wise to choose their own two years in a row, it looks like the just is not objective. Cetainly there are many more outstanding sports careers to honor than the spanish basket ball team.fanletizia said:The selection of basketball gains Prince of Asturias of Sports

It seems that the Prince has said that the girl is very little. She has been in Valencia and they have showed her often in Majorca and the girl was more young. So this there is no the one who understands it.

Don Felipe says that the infanta Leonor " is still very little " to be present at the delivery of the Prizes Prince
The Prince of Asturias assured today, moments before concluding his visit to Oviedo, that the princess Doña Letizia "will" "come" to the ceremony of delivery of the Prizes Prince of Asturias, who is celebrated on October 20, " she is well ". To the question of if they will bring the infanta Leonor, Don Felipe de Borbón answered: " I do not believe because she is still very litle ".

LaChicaMadrilena said:Strange. The Princes said in spring that it's probable that they will take Leonor in October in order to present her to the Virgen of Covadonga. They could travel to Oviedo, leave the baby with her nanny or grandmother in the hotel and attend the prize giving ceremony, I think nobody expected Leo to sit with them in the theater during such a long event. Then they could make other activities (visiting this "village of the year") and then present their daughter to the virgen. I think that makes sence, Letizia could travel only once to Asturias. In her state it would be dangerous to travel to Oviedo first for Prizes, then come back to Madrid and then go again to Asturias to visit Covadonga with Leo. Or maybe they don't want to display her at all, at least now? Strange.

So, I guess that the alternative LaChica proposed will be the most plausible one, the girl indeed goes with them, but she stays in the hotel with her nanny while Mom and Dad perform their duties, but I guess that nothing prevents them to stroll with her around Oviedo, does it?
lula said:I believe that the Prince is not silly,I do not believe that he has thought never that they were asking him about the ceremony. Because I do not believe that it appears it anybody, because it is evident that not correspond that a baby will be in an act like that.
He knows perfectly that when they ask it him, refer if the girl is going to travel to Asturias, because several times the press have done the same question.
