"Victoria looks good too, but yesterday was much more royal and the same goes with Silvia"

Yes, less formal. I love it. Victoria's dress is a nice dress. Not too formal but just right. Same thing with Madde.

I agree with Dennis. Anyway both dresses are looking quite much the same way. Madeleine´s dress has just those crinkles (right word?) and is blue. And the jewelry is decent too. I like it, when it doesn´t look as if one wants to displace the other.

She agrees with me! Just kidding. Anyway, crinkles. Yes. I was going to say it bunches up a little bit. I want to see the shoes though.

Sorry girls/boys I like them really royal, otherwise they seam so close to us in a way. Yes of course that can be good some times as well, but when they are out there representing our country, and when they can look so good...!!
But I really do understand them, it must be so much more comfortable with this more laid back dinner ( if you can say that talking about an official dinner at the Royal Castle).

I know. I'm not going to expect it that's for sure!

Really tough times for the Royals...Some people want them more closer to them, they shouldn´t own too much designer-clothes, luxury-cars, shouldn´t have too many servants, the Royal children shouldn´t deal too much with upper-class-guys...
And some people want them more regal, with more expensive dresses....

You're right, Alva about the dress, formal or not And this family especially Victoria has been quite open for a royal about these things. Perhaps to seem more "normal". But Lena's point is valid too. Other people, not necessarily us at LTR but the general public, would criticize them if they were too "regal" or too "down-to-earth". It's a no-win situation.

Polfoto 11-12-2003 - Crownprincess Victoria and Princess Madeleine, arrives Thursday Dec. 11, 2003 to a dinner held at Stockholm Palace for the Nobel laureates.

I think Victoria looks much younger in these pictures. And I love the colour and cut of this dress. Much simpler but still regal as ever.

I agree. If I wouldn´t know them, I would guess, that they are about the same age. (And I wouldn´t think that they are sisters). On these pictures Victoria´s eyes are looking really huge...so that could be a reason, why she´s looking younger (Children and especially babies have proportionally huge eyes -> keyword "scheme of childlike characteristics")

I am quite smitten with the dress Princess Madeleine wore for the ceremony. I think it would make a fantastic wedding dress too.I also preferred Princess Madeleine's gown compared to Victoria's red one. Both ladies could have done something better with their hair though.

Another pic of the phoning minister...and an article on it
Expressen

According to Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg Victoria is not upset about it.

I can't believe that there's only 3 pictures from the dinner on the second day!!!

You're right, Cissan. I couldn't believe it either. Let's hope there will be more. But I'll be happy with what we have.

Very good, Lena. I like the comments too. I had thought of a few things that Victoria may be dreaming away about already. And Madde does look like she is sleeping. She did look bored in a couple of the other photos.

Which things? I´m curious!

I wish there were more pictures of the family on the second night. I think Victoria
does look younger...it has to be the haircut...either way I like it!

My stars....was Goran Persson always such a portly man? Or did he just gain a "bit" of weight between 1999 and now? Well, I think Victoria looks very nice these days. Madeleine looks like a tanning bed gone wrong.

On an aside note- AAAAAAAAAH! ITCHY EYES I'M GOING TO DIIIIIIIIIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAh!!!!!!

I'm okay now.

Hasn´t Göran Persson problems with his back?? So maybe he comforts himself with chocolate and the last years were very busy for him, the last months after the death of his friend Anna Lindh were very sad and stressful. And in this chaos he married a new wife too.
Maybe he should ask Victoria for an physiological/training advice, because of his back...As much as I know, she started weight-training because of her back (and not because of Daniel II..as one could think ;) )

itchy eyes...Oh, I feel with you! I´ve itchy ears since the beginning of the day...but I think that´s because of my earphones.

Itchy eyes? I don't ever get them. Burning ears is another matter altogether.

No wonder Goran isn't sitting beside his wife ...... who else would take an emergency call on the cell on the most important (2nd ?) function of the year ???????

And they had only been married for a week too.

And they had only been married for a week too.

I'm sure his wife knows her husband has to stay politically connected, and that obligations come first.

OT: Curious .... any picture of his new wife, and comments about her views of the future?

1. Mmmm. Good dinner.

2. What are you looking at? Can't a man enjoy his dinner in peace?

3. Ahh, let me clean my glasses.

4. I can't get my glasses off.

5. Förbaskat också! Who can that be?

6. Listen, I told you never to call this number. Never, I said.

7. Look, Göran. Is it me or is that chandelier a little too bright?

1. For Göran, Gulp, gulp, gulp. Or klunk, klunk, klunk.

For Victoria: Call me. Or "Look at this hand puppet."

2. For Göran, Gulp, gulp, gulp. Or klunk, klunk, klunk.

For Victoria: Must get that food off of my tooth.

3. O, Anitra. How I long to be in your arms....

or

Anitra should have warned me about this type of wine...

4. No comment. Yeah, but try to think of what Madeleine is thinking as she is watching her sister.

5. Nice photo.

6. Beautiful gown.
