The Nobel Prize 2002 - 2012

It really amazes me how 2 tiaras so packed with diamonds and precious stones can be so unutterably ugly. I really hope when Victoria is on the throne she takes these tiaras to pieces and starts again.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but , the six button tiara actually looked good on Victoria tonight. Now I have to look outside to see if there's any pigs flying around....

Thanks for so many photos and newspaper-links. I couldn't "attend" this big event yesterday so I'm glad I get all this updates today.

I'm also a little unhappy that Madeleine wasn't there yesterday, but I had a feeling she wouldn't for a few weeks now. She seems to have found her personal niche in New York this past two years. I'm happy for her, because she really looks more and more satisfied with her life. Nevertheless, on days like this it's sad that she's not in Sweden anymore.

Im happy Carl Philip was there, because with all his traveling aound the world in the past few weeks I was getting worried he maybe wouldn't attend, too. But there he was, hot as ever. There is a god after all.

And... well, is there anyone else who thinks that Victoria could have choosen a better dress? Because I feel like I'm the only one thinking so. In my eyes it just didn't suit her current condition. She looked so completely shapeless along with a desperate (and not successfull) attemp to hide her belly with all this glitter and bling-bling. I'm not saying this definitely was the reason behind this dress but it just screams said reasons to me. I'm sorry, but in her current condition I really don't like this dress on her. She could have done way better IMO.

Last thought that just struck me out of the blue: Did anyone notice there definitely were the right numbers of Bernadottes present this year even so Madeleine was missing? Mini-Bernadotte was very present, even so he/she hide behind blue glitter all evening. ;-)

Does anyone know which designer CP Victoria wore? Was it Elie Saab again?

Yes, it was probably custom made Ellie Saab. He used this material in his previous collection.

Isnt HRH Crown Princess Victoria 6 months pregnant ?

I noticed that too, how incredibly sweet

I actually like the Six Button Tiara very much, so I'm glad she wore it.
I agree with you. Victoria looked wonderful in the sparkly blue dress and the tiara. If she is pregnant with an active baby she may wonder if those little feet will kick right through her stomach wall. That is how it can feel sometime.

Were any of the King's sisters present this year?

How can HRH Crown Princess Victoria be 7 months pregnant when she is due in March which is 3months away ? Wouldnt that make her 6months pregnant since her due date is 3months away ?

A pregnancy is 40 weeks or nine full months. If she is due (as a guess) March 10th than she would start her 9th month Febr 10, her 8th month on Jan 10th and her 7th month on Dec 10th. Some woman are in the early days of their 10th month by the time they give birth.

The wife of the speaker of the swedish Riksdag (Parliament), Ylwa Westerberg sat beside Daniel also this year at the banquet. She told to SvenskDam, that because she has just had a grandchild (Liban, 6 months) they naturally spoke a lot about children and even ultrasound. Daniel had told her that he thinks that one can´t see so much from an ultrasound. Westerberg told that she had a very nice evening with both her table partners. This was one of the best Nobel-banquets she has attended and she thought that the Romeo and Julia -choir was absolutely fantastic.
