The Duchess of Sussex's Maternity Fashion: October 2018 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I think no amount of jewelry would have saved this outfit, but if she had felt inclined to do something more blingy, I think larger earrings would have been a good choice.

The shoes with the gold ankle cuffs are gorgeous. This Meghan fashion site offers a similar option in a flat shoe which I love!
Meghan and Harry attend the 2019 Endeavor Fund Awards - Meghan's Mirror

In addition, see where it's pointed out in the above that the bespoke outfit is designed to be a gown and may be incorporated into a one-piece gown in future. That sounds interesting. I think it looks fine on Meghan, but I'm not seeing how it works as a one-piece gown without some styling adjustments.

As far as everyone offering their preferences, that's just it, personal style preferences. The comments in the link I provided above are interesting. Many positive comments, and a few offering what they would like to see different. I appreciate the commenter who points out that a necklace or larger earrings would have destroyed Meghan's look. I agree. Sometimes it's difficult to know when to subtract. I think Meghan is fairly savvy about that, especially with her minimalist aesthetic. We know she doesn't do a lot of bling and she rarely wears large earrings (practically never actually). I think we've seen hanging or large earrings on Meghan about 3 times maybe. And she styled her hair up for a reason. She wore it down at last year's event. I think the white shirt with open collar looks better with her hair up. Wearing her hair down would have taken away from her open collar and expansive neckline, as would have wearing a necklace.

As far as the shirt, I think it was purposely designed to be roomy to aid in her comfort. I think it looks fine. Her clothes do wrinkle on occasion from sitting and getting in and out of vehicles. But she looks fine, and they both seem secure and happy as always in each other's company. It's an understated event. I recall what Meghan wore to the event last year which was on point and unexpected. This outfit has a similar vibe, with just a bit more easy glam with the long skirt.

These have been suggested as DoS Meghan's and Waight Keller's style inspirations:
https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YlVtdkxR...soxFHlSSitHyEM5ubN1LU1wCLcBGAs/s1600/gb11.jpg
I love Bessette Kennedy's easy glamor. She looks so divine and effortless. Herrera is genius, and Queen Letizia is always on point. Letizia's outfit almost does look like a gown. And ooh the model's pose with the sheer lacy-look white top with balloon-ruffled sleeves, and shiny black skirt (is it organza or Charmeuse satin?) Not everyone could wear this particular outfit.

Ya know Meghan has previously pointed out her minimalist style inspirations, and she's definitely in tune with going for what works for her body, as she once said she admired this in Gwyneth Paltrow of all people. I can understand Meghan's admiration for Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, and Carolina Herrera much better. ;) Those are definitely blingy hanging earrings in the below. ?

I recently saw a video that came out after the royal wedding last year, but I only just saw it in which they were discussing Meghan's fashion influence, and Tim Gunn of Project Runway fame said, "Meghan Markle is no one's dress-up doll, she's a mature woman." IOW, she knows her own style aesthetic and she dresses for herself, and for her body.

For the Morocco trip, below are some caftan style ideas. With her pregnancy, Meghan would look so fab wearing caftans:

Oh don't do this to me MaiaMia!! Makes me want to shop and get all of the above for myself. I'm absolutely a fan of tunics and caftan styles and I agree they'd look fabulous on Meghan for the Morocco trip. Out of all the ones you've posted, I like the red one best for her.

I am pretty positive that Meghan will be doing research as to how to dress in Morocco as far as what to wear and what not to wear. I did find this that will give all of us an inkling what to expect.

They are pretty conservative in how they dress there so I am sure she will follow suit.

Yes @Osipi, out of the ones I posted, the red and gold caftan would probably look best on Meghan in it's styling and color. ? I also think the navy gown with hijab (head covering) is gorgeous, but for pregnancy that syle would have to be adjusted at the waist. I also love the navy & gold tunic over the white pants.

Please, no navy or black, even with silver or gold embellishments. I want to see red, shades of brilliant blues or greens, turquoise even. If ever there was a reason to wear vivid colours (perhaps with silver jewellery) it would be on this trip. I'm hoping for some flamboyance!

I believe the color of the Moroccan flag is red, so we might get to see something like we did the Fijian blue gown.

Yes, and we have it here on TRF:

Thanks for the above What to Wear in Morocco travel guide info @Osipi. According to this passage:
"A woman traveling to Morocco should wear long skirts and dresses, jeans or pants that cover the knees, draping tunics, polo shirts, and camisoles that can be worn under sweaters and cardigans. Women generally wear sandals or loafers; rarely do they wear heels."

Yay then if Meghan wears flats. I'm kinda tired of seeing her in heels all the time.

Here's an informative profile on DoS Meghan's friend and makeup artist, Daniel Martin:
Meet Daniel Martin, Meghan's Makeup Artist - Meghan's Mirror

Included is the recipe for Meghan's avocado toast, nabbed from A Way Back search of Meghan's former Tig blog. Also, for those interested, there's a product list of makeup brands Martin used on Meghan to give her a 'natural look' for her wedding day.

And here's a Daniel Martin makeup tutorial:

I'd only expect to see her in a kaftan possibly at a formal banquet. Though she will be dressed conservatively compared to home, she will not be expected to wear a kaftan and head scarf for the trip. A trip to a Mosque would call for a head scarf, but I don't see else.

Yes this is something I think people are missing, there's no reason to see her in Kaftans the entire trip. I don't expect to see one at all more than likely knowing Meghans style. I would expect her to be dressed conservatively, but definitely in a "western" way.

I agree with this. In addition, formal caftans are tricky to wear. It's a lot of fabric to handle, otherwise they can be a trip hazard. On the other hand, if Meghan happened to be gifted with one, I'd love to see her wear it. She'd look fantastic.

love the dresses , wouldn't mind to have one myself!thank you for posting them

Lalla Salma is one of the most gloriously dressed women so Meghan could do a lot worse than to follow her style. Camilla also looked respectful but beautiful visiting Morocco.
Longer, flowing fashion is comfortable for pregnancy.

Thanks for the samples you provided of royal ladies' previous visits to Morocco @Countessmeout. ? Very enlightening photos. I particularly love what Letizia and Camilla wore. We can't see the full outfit Camilla wore to the dinner event where she was sitting, but it did look to be a caftan in a very lovely light shade of grey with gold embellishments. It may also have been a tunic over pants or a skirt.

I like Meghan in white and the dress and coat combination look very nice. Love Meghan's hair. I expected a long dress for a gala but probably none of the other females are wearing long dresses either. Glad she's repeating her coat.

She looks angelic in this. I love the white on white, but that she broke it up with green shoes and clutch.

Also, I think my favourite part of this look is a really genuine smile and a full "baby face". It was a tough week, and so it's nice to see that smile.

Yeah, I think the only thing that is new is the dress. Everything else is a repeat.

I really love this look. I was a fan of that coat when the work it the 1st time. Glad to see her repeat it.

I like this look. I also thought that she would wear a long dress, but maybe this gala is more relaxed? Love the white, the green shoes and clutch, AND the hair (not severe like the last engagement, love the style)

I feel like the word "gala" is thrown around so loosely these days because no one at the event looks dressed for what I normally associate with a gala lol.

Meghan looks absolutely sensational. Head to toe perfection in my book. She wears white sooo well.

Stunning! I love her in the ivory color and really love the hairstyle. She is glowing!

Yes, it seems that for some any 'evening event' is considered 'gala'...

I love the color on her...the coat is gorgeous....I like the dress except I am not a fan of turtle necks.

LOVE LOVE the shoe and clutch!

I kind of got an Audrey Hepburn vibe from this latest outfit. Especially with the hairstyle. She looked fantastic.

The shoes and coat are nice, but the dress doesn't seem to fit very well.
(Maybe it's just that I don't like such clingy maternity wear).

She looks cozy and comfortable with this ensemble. Isn't the dress the same as the one worn on January 16 th at Mayhew. By H&M's maternity line Mama.

No after a second look at the Mayhew dress I might be wrong. Similiar dress but different. Last nights dress looks to be a different material and slightly longer.

She is a gorgeous woman. I love everything she’s wearing tonight. Head to toe perfection!

Meghan looks fantastic tonight, though the turtleneck makes me itch thinking of it.

I loved the coat when we saw it before and am happy to see it again. :flowers:

Great green accessories to add some color to the look. Hair is lovely ?

Definitely different dresses. Both were knit fabric though. :flowers:

What makes them slightly similar is having a matching color coat over.

Mayhew was beige on beige knit, and hit an inch or so above the knee. And had a small stand up collar to it.

Tonight is pristine white on white, with an over sized turtleneck. And it falls to the knee caps.

I liked this coat the last time I saw it, and I think I like it even better for this appearance. It looks lovely. Below the neck, I love everything about this dress, but the turtleneck looks as though it's eating her alive. If only it were a simple jewel neckline, this whole appearance would be perfect. As it is, Meghan looks gorgeous, but I'm trying very hard to pretend the turtleneck isn't there.
