Do we know what the central Stones are ?

I've seen both morganite and pink topaz given as the central stones. Too big for spinel, or sapphire, for that matter.

I've seen them called Diamond Drop earrings too.

The Central stones cannot be Pink Diamonds [simply TOO huge] !

Those diamonds are delicious. Looks like it could be morganite to me.

Is that possible? :D

I have been looking at the sites that track her jewelry etc...none of them have the ID on the maker or the stones, just guesses.

LaRae

Yes, they probably are. Fabulous earrings. They must hurt at the end of an evening though!

^ I agree with THAT sentiment, what I really mean is a pair of Pink Diamonds that size are SO rare and expensive as to be prohibative even as a gift to a future Queen.

Yes, they are not diamonds, not in that size and color.

Well it's likely they are not diamonds ...from what I read she's had these several years now, according to one site she got them the year she was married so the question of a wedding gift was raised so....

A spectacular 19 carat pink diamond ring sold at auction yesterday in Geneva for $50 million.

The colour is certainly one of the most beautiful pinks I have seen. Totally wasted in a ring though.

Back to more prosaic wondering. While checking an estate jewellery catalogue for my favourite Almandine Garnets I saw the most beautiful antique pair of palest pink pendant earrings. The stones looked almost exactly the same as Catherine's. The stones? Pink Sapphires!

Please return to the topic of Catherine's jewels. Further off-topic posts will be removed.

Not a surprise...this is evidently going to be her main tiara. Love it with the Pearl earrings.

LaRae

I know I am in the minority, but I do not like the way the tiara ‘sits’ with this hairstyle. I think the high forehead coupled with the height of the tiara isn’t flattering.

I too don't particularly care for the way it sits although I have to admit the pairing of her glossy brunette hair with the Lovers Knot Tiara is beautiful.

I have to admit the ongoing Downton Abbey updos are not flattering either Catherine or the tiara. When I think of magical styles sported by the royals of Europe with some of the most awkward or clunky tiaras, I feel kind of sad that we don't get to see her look as good as she could.

It is an exquisite classically designed tiara, the Hollywood hairstyles favoured by the European Ladies would take away from the simplicity of the look the Duchess is going for. Her hairstyle is not fighting with her headdress for attention!
She looks very beautiful and and an absolute credit to our Country!

I feel like she has finally hit her stride with her ‘tiara hair’. Her recent updo’s showcase the tiara and frame her face nicely. I was never crazy about the half up/half down look. It looked to casual for a tiara occasion. That said, I liked her wedding look.
