I saw someone say they weren't then I saw one of the style folks say these were new ones....so that seemed to be the last word at the time.

With respect, that is how rumors and "fake news" spreads, IMO. She has worn these Kiki's a few times previously.

Oh good Lord we are talking about jewelry not a matter of national importance...has nothing to do with fake news or rumors if a item of jewelry is mis-identified.

Many people take the study of the royal jewellery very seriously and it can be extremely irritating when half truths and misidentifications are published as the truth. We all enjoy your light hearted comments but at the same time do not wish to encourage wrong information to be spoken of as truth.

:previous: Oh I think the shiny object is quite probably what happened. Just as I am sure that the necklace left the BP intact and arrived at KP in the same condition. If it did indeed happen that way, I hope HM ceases to lend her historical jewels as she obviously doesn't care about them.

This may seem harsh but any mother knows that a small child grabs hair, Tiaras, necklaces, earrings, etc. and makes sure to see that she sees the child before putting on the jewels, if for no other reason that those danglers are crying out to a child to grab them and, of course, they are a choking hazard.

It seems that the gown was designed precisely to showcase that particular necklace which is why the empty space where the missing pearl should be sort of yelled "hey look at me . . . .I'm lonely".

My own two cents is that it was just a case of the dangling pearl probably getting caught in the rest of the necklace at some stage, and it being a few minute before somebody pointed it out to her. Unfortunately, most of the pictures of the evening were taken within a few seconds of each other, and hence, captured the errant pearl not in its place.

I shall dedicate some time to research and be more than happy to eat my words. From the neckline up it was pearl heaven with more than a few diamonds thrown in for good measure.

Surely it is not being said that the Duchess wore the necklace with one of the pearls missing ?!?
The pearl is caught behind one of the large bouton pearls.

For the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall last night, the Duchess of Cambridge is reported to have worn earrings from the HM's Qatari diamond and pearl suite.

From Her Majesty's Jewel Vault: The Qatar Pearl and Diamond Demi-Parure

She also wore HM's pearl and diamond brooch, previously used by her in Belgium last year, as a base to pin 3 Rememberance poppies on, in a wonderful arrangement.

Really difficult to say are the pearl earrings same. Queen's are more "dangled" and Kate's are more like studs. Of course she may have modified them but the settings are quite different.

Again love the arrangement of the poppies-brooch.

I agree with you, the earrings worn by the Duchess are a cluster of pearls in a rounded shape. The Qatari suite earrings are oblong in shape- in my opinion, quite different !

Very possible.

At the Remembreance Day event today, Catherine wore the cluster pearl earrings last worn at Louis' christening.

I love pearls and wish Kate would wear them more often. However, I think the pearl cluster earrings were a major miss on Remembrance Day. The earrings say garden party, wedding, light summer dresses not a military style coat. In short, they clash badly. Kate would have looked better if she had worn a simple pearl or diamond stud or if she really needed to go blingy, her white topaz Kikis with the diamond halo.

The Duchess is wearing her sapphire and diamond d earrings in Yorkshire today

Great to see them again, perfect event to show them off at the Palace gala!
