Is the patronage for Børn, Unge og Sorg a new one? I remember the images of her & Frederik visiting the center as a film promo for the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes - last year I think?

(It seems that Mary's adopted a grey-white-black-navy uniform for more serious visits these past years).

Wasn't this one of Alexandra's patronages? How did the change of patron come about exactly? And does Alexandra have any patronages left?

:previous:

Yes, it was. She stepped down in 2014 and attended a final farewell concert in December 2014. Countess Alexandra does have some patronages left, but please use her extra thread for discussions about them! :flowers:

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #16, 2018.
Written by our man on the spot, Ulrik Ulriksen.

As you know Mary recently inaugurated the new emergency ward at Slagelse hospital. The town of Slagelse i located midway between the cities of Odense and Copenhagen, so that part of DK needed an emergency ward to handle acute cases that don't require the more specialized and advanced treatment you get at the major hospitals.

Upon arriving Mary appeared visibly surprised, because not had the local rolled out the (almost ?) longest red carpet in royal history, but every single kindergarten within 50 Km had been mobilized and taken up position along the carpet. So it took a little while for Mary to say hello to a lot of children - and retirees!
Mary, wearing shoes from Gianvito Rossi, did not disappoint the locals.

After a tour of the ward, Mary was turned lose again.

Wasn't Alexandra patron of this choir?

As choirs are often used as entertainment on official visits both here in DK and abroad, I think it's natural for Mary to become their patron, even if she AFAIK haven't shown particular interest in singing.

That group has some videos on YouTube, and they are really good!

Sort of an unusual outfit for Mary - casual pants, dressy shoes....and a bullet-proof vest? :ermm:
