Tonight, DR sent their annual broadcast "The year in 2015 in the Danish Royal Family."
I'm posting it here as the broadcast had a good, strong and informative focus on Mary's large work.
The broadcast started with that it's not without a reason that Mary in the Gallup surveys is the DRF's most popular member, and that member in the DRF the Danes think is doing the best work. She's doing a huge and comitted work the year round.
A reporter, often going with her on work and working travels, told about an episode. Mary had been on a five-day official visit with the Mary Foundation - during a stopover on the way home in Geneva - she took the advantage of the waiting time to make a keynote speech to a UN meeting. On the plane the rest of the way to home to Denmark she got up from her seat, walked down to the experts in the middle on the plane, squatted down in the gangway for an hour while talking with the experts - because she couldn't resist to hear more and just would like to have the last details with her. That's
genuine commitment. The program praised her for talking loud about difficult topics which royals usually do not talk about. Sex, contraceptives and loneliness etc. She's brave in her speeches and interviews. Crown Princess Mary is a rolemodel of how a royal can be a useful hardworking royal. and she will and does make a difference.
Crown Prince Frederik was described like this as well. Our PM Lars Løkke end former PM Helle Thorning both explained how it is to work closely with Queen Margrethe and Crown Prince Frederik. Both explained that it was all a bit more down-to-earth when Crown Prince Frederik was present. He's very easy to talk with and makes people feel welcome and comfortable.
So began the program to change... It began to talk about dresses and so on... and I saw the rest of the program with half an eye. I observed the programme focused on the "Prince Henrik scandal" at Queen Margrethe's 75 years birthday, the bridgegate, Princess Marie's breast enlargement operation and the DRF's handling of this.
And there was also a good coverage of the Regent Couple's trip to Greenland.
