Meghan released some new goodies to her friends, raspberry jam and dog biscuits. Literally during the TTC.

Why would Nacho Figueras give a fig about putting items on his Internet site about anything just because Trooping of the Colour is taking place in London on the same day? Was he supposed to consult with BP about it?
I have a very strong suspicion that he was given hints about when to put it out. It’s a recurrent coincidence that a lot of Meghan’s advertisments happen just when there’s something in the RF calendar. Of course, it’s just coincidence.

We don’t know when he received those items from Meghan. It could have been weeks ago. And if Figueras (who is btw a multi millionaire, doesn’t have to be paid for anything) had really meant something anti royal by it, wouldn’t he have released it later in the day rather than before the ceremony.

Exactly. I think it’s more likely that Meghan told him when to advertise her latest jam than it’s just another coincidence.

The real question is: when is she going to get around to SELLING anything? I thought that was the point of this little exercise. She’s been teasing this thing since January. It’s mid June.

So she’s gone from advertising strawberry jam to raspberry jam this time. Interesting choice. And dog biscuits.

I really dislike whatever she put over the lid and tied it with.

Who cares about Meghan’s pots of jam? I imagine the people she’s giving them away to don’t eat anything such as jam, and they likely sit at the back of the cupboard for a while before going in the bin. What a waste of money and effort!

Whether it was deliberately planned or not, today does not strike me as a good day to reveal another product. Not given how dominant the coverage of Kate's appearance at the Trooping has been. IMO, it would have made more sense to do the reveal on a day when there wasn't some huge royal event going on.

Maybe people should stop trying to figure out what she’s doing whenever her husband’s relatives are doing something.
Exactly, I am absolutely sick of people only talk about what Meghan does when there is a royal family event. Meghan can do whatever she wants whenever she wants she and her husband left the family remember? She doesn’t need there permission or approval to do anything.

I looked up the time of publication on Nacho’s instagram account. It was between three and four in the morning in UK. And evening/late evening in America, depending on the location.
I am convinced they hoped the press will pick it up before the start of TTC and that the story will go hand in hand with the stories about the ceremonies. Who knows when the press discovered, but it was first published just after the balcony appearance. So there’s two to tango.

It’s so sad how, even at an important event like the Trooping the Colour, more poignant due to the return of HRH The Princess of Wales during her cancer battle, people have the inclination to bother with a person who has had no connection with the BRF in nearly two years. To each their own I guess.

Whatever people think of the couple it certainly seems they like to tag into the “royal news cycle” by having news of their own at the same time.

From a PR point of view I don’t get that as it puts them in competition for attention- much better to make their own news stories / product launches etc when you know the RF aren’t busy- eg the long summer break when European news outlets are desperate for royal news. I suspect though they are going for the American market and hoping it will be reported as “in other royal news…” at the end of coverage about Trooping and Catherine’s return.

Whether posters like, love are indifferent or don’t like the Sussex’s- doesn’t mean its not a valid discussion to talk about why they so often seem to ensure they also have news /events during big royal events. They could indeed release things whenever they like now they are not part of the working RF, yet consistently choose to pick key royal events to do so. Their choice… and one that will cause talk…. Which is probably why they do it.

It makes a lot of sense to me at least.
As another poster pointed out, the timing seems adjusted so that the British media in particular pick it up - at the same time as a major BRF event. And the result is some kind of comparison by the press. - It works. It's generally bad press, but they (and sometimes their project or product) is mentioned - a lot!
As the saying goes: Bad publicity is better than no publicity..

And this is free publicity. It's read by millions in the UK at least, and perhaps also in other countries where King Charles is head of state? It is to various degree picked up by the global media and it sure is discussed in fora like this!

So whether these "coincidental" publications from M&H are a calculated PR move to get free press or whether they are a (pathetic to be honest) attempt to compete with the BRF or a mix of both is of course open to speculation.

Whatever, it will work for some time yet, but it's destined to slowly fizzle out. Even the otherwise vigilant British tabloids didn't bother to check what M&H came up with, or just as bad, didn't bother write about it - being way more preoccupied with Catherine today. And that is a testament to the fact, repeat fact, that H&M are destine to slowly fade away if they continue down this path.
Because if what they had to say or present was interesting enough, if it could stand on its own, if they were genuine influencers, people would pay attention anyway, no matter when they posted whatever it might be. It would (naturally) be on a considerable lesser scale than what the BRF are up to, but less can suffice too, I'd say.
I'm afraid H&M are now committing the unpardonable sin of being boring. - And from that to being irrelevant, then to oblivion, is but a short road...

I suspect that this "strategery" was hatched prior the Catherine's statement that she will be attending Trooping the Colour (TTC) and it is not getting anywhere near the attention anticipated because all of the attention is focused on The Princess of Wales' return to public facing duties.

I've given the Sussexes the side-eye a time or three about the timing of some of their announcements and activities, but more often than not I have given them the benefit of the doubt because they really should not have to time their activities when the BRF is idle, however, this does look very deliberate due to Trooping the Colour being such a big event. However, I am perplexed as to why even piggyback on TTC and not time this several days before or after. And don't even get me started on the "strategery" of sending gifts to influencers but not actually launching or the products / giving a launch date.

The thing is, even when Prince Harry and the former Meghan Markle are complete nobodies in the eyes of the media, they’ll be fine. There’ll be some new money American, or foreign oligarch, or even warlord trying to be legit who will pay them for legitimacy. Who care if it brings scorn or derision…they get that anyway. It will also let them live the life they’re accustomed to without working as hard and even get the 24/7 security that Prince Harry has desperately sought after. Heck, the BRF may even decide to support them again to prevent that from happening- they’ve done so with other family members before.

Amazing that Meghan, who through marriage got to be an A-lister, through a combination of her own actions and vindictiveness, is now down to peddling dog biscuits and jam!

Where she had an opportunity to be at the top table meeting Presidents, Kings and Princes, she now has to wait for royal events to attempt (and fail every time!) to try and steal the press attention. An object lesson in how (NOT!) to make the most of the opportunities life serves you.
