Danish Royal Family, Current Events Part 6: June 2020 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I love the pics and clips from the dance and like it how relaxed the royals dance with the politicians. Could anyone imagine this in the UK for example. Never ever.

One can easily find videos of the BRF doing similar folk dancing at the Ghillies ball in Scotland, the Queen in tiara and all.

Here is the video! Such a fun night with Parliament members.

Looks like a lot of fun. - It does however add weight to the claim that white people can't dance. :D

Frederik danced with the PM, Mette Frederiksen. While Mary danced with the Minister of Health, Heunicke. Who has had plenty on his table in the latter stages of Corona (which of course hasn't ended yet, we must keep in mind.)
Benedikte danced with the nestor of the Parliament, Bertil Haarder. Who has had a long and distinguished political career. Being a minister many times and very experienced, he has often been used a firefighter, whenever a ministry had problems and he had to clear up after a sacked/demoted minister.
All that despite suffering from bi-polar disorder. - Which years ago earned him the less than sympathetically nickname Bertel Bims = Bertel Nutter. Of course mental issues were still very much a taboo back then.

We are going to see more of him soon.
At the opening of the Parliament on 3rd October. He, as the MP who has been there the longest, will welcome the members with a few words and also the DRF, and then preside over the election of the Chairman of the Parliament. (That's normally a formality.) Who will take over and ask the PM to give her opening address to the Parliament.

Anyway, it looks to me like M&F have been hosting such galas for years. So yes, they are so ready to take over.

Apart from that. The 179 members of the Parliament, as well as the members of the EU Parliament and government ministers is not a larger gathering than most know each other pretty well. And while there are of course some who can't stand the sight of each other, most of them are just colleagues. Some having married across political divides.
So they are just dressing up and having fun and gossiping in the corners just like at any company party - which this basically is.

ADDED: I deduce from the comments that many of them are high schoolers or just out of high school.

The Czech President is just gorgeous! What a silver fox! ? He is always neat and moves in a refined manner. The difference in appearance and stance between him and the Crown Prince is quite evident is this photo!

The Ukrainian President Zelenskyj has landed in DK.
At some point he will have an audience with QMII who has returned back to DK for the occasion.

Zelenskyj is in DK to thank for 19 F-16s that will be donated to Ukraine. (That's about half of the operational planes we have at present, but the first F-35s will arrive short.)
The first Ukrainian pilots have arrived in DK and training will start in the coming week. - After that they will presumably fly back to Ukraine in six of the donated fighters. That will probably happen around New Year.

As a Dane and on a personal note I'm quite proud of my country - and also our politicians.

Queen Margrethe returned from her holiday abroad to be able to receive the president and his wife on Monday! Frederik was scheduled to be regent for a couple more days.

That is so lovely! I wonder if any of the CP kids will join them – given they're all under 18 for a little while yet, I suspect the DRF still considers them under the category of "depending on their form on the day" :D

= whether M&F can pry their phones out of their hands. :D

(..)

It's good to see they include Felix.

I wonder if Felix is becoming the new Count Ingolf. I.e. the one of his branch of the family (Joachim's children) who actually maintains a good relationship with the core members of the DRF.

It also suggests that Felix is somewhat less concerned about his title than his brother and mother.

It may have less to do with any attitude of Felix's and more with [whoever] being thoughtful given that most of his family just moved abroad and the brother he's very close to is in Australia. So why not invite him to something?

Of course, Felix had to have been in the mood to accept.

Exactly. Because I don't think this is a movie a young man his age would likely pick as something to watch.
Especially as he can go unnoticed as a private person and not being a part of the royal show.

- However, I'm sure this is something Joachim appreciate. Perhaps not so much for bringing Felix along to a kind of semi-royal event, but more for bringing him along at all. I think that's something every parent appreciate.

Felix was also the only adult from his father's branch of the family who didn't engage in the public mud-slinging last year.

Felix has had to cancel.
"The Royal Palace's communications department confirms to BILLED-BLADET that Count Felix has canceled due to illness."

There are a lot of people suffering from whooping coughs these days, and also Corona.
