I agree maybe people will stop going on about how there's something wrong with Meghan and Doria because no family was there. I also would not be surprised if Meghan's niece Ashley was there.

There is limited space in the Quire in St. George's chapel and it's entirely possible that they did not want to sit in such a prominent and visible spot.

Yes, if her uncle was there, can you imagine the media storm that would have descended on him? I am sure he took one look at that situation and said "hard pass"

Perhaps the only thing "wrong" with them is that they refuse to be part of dysfunction and toxic dynamics. I have cut family members out who were not healthy people for me and refused to be brought back into the drama by "mediators " who wanted me to fall back in line. Nope.

Regarding Doria, she looked so beautiful and was truly glowing with pride and love. I doubt anyone would care about the nose ring. It suited her.

Yes Zinnia, Doria looked lovely and you could feel the love in her heart.

I agree and I understand. I strongly disagreed with the family who were using the lack of contact with these toxic family members against her.

Unfortunately, not everyone has an ideal family and sometimes it's the only thing you can do. I've been lucky not to experience within my own family but I have friends who've grown up in toxic families who have done this (and one who has been unable to and they have had a profoundly negative effect on her life.) I really disliked how some people who were quick to judge Meghan for this reason.

I agree she looked gorgeous. I'm a year older than Doria (62) and I wish I looked as wonderful as she does. I admire her dignity and strength in the face of press who've been looking for anything negative to report about her. I agree about her nose ring, it works for her. (BTW, I got my first tattoo as a memorial for my late son when I was 59 - it's on the inside of my wrist and visible. I don't judge other people's personal choices in how they choose to decorate or not decorate their bodies.)

Sarah, Duchess of York Current Events 18: January 2014

Well I’d be one of the first to laugh at that normally. Never been a Fergie fan But she looked lovely and was very composed I hope it continues for her daughters wedding.

I can’t find a photo of her from the wedding

Fergie has the potential to behave and dress ok, just like she always has the potential to do the opposite. You just never know. Everyday is a new day. I do think she was really happy to be invited to this wedding after not being invited to William’s and was on her best behavior though.

:flowers: If I sounded like I was directing my comments to any one person, please forgive me. I was referring to the stupid press speculation as quoted above. I hope I didn't make anyone feel defensive. Not the intention at all.

And Purrs, your tattoo tribute to your son is a wonderful way to keep him with you always. I'm just sad that he's gone. I wish you well.

Some media outlets are beginning to report on the woman sitting behind Meghan’s mother in the Quire. Her name is Genevieve Hillis. Her father is the founder and CEO of Direct Supply. Her and Meghan are sorority sisters from their Northwestern days. So clearly, Meghan had far more support than we realize. People, myself included, tend to think we know all of dearest and closest because she shared a lot with us on her social media and the Tig, but it’s becoming more and more clear that the woman knew very well what she can share with public and what should remain private. She obviously has a lot more deep and significant relationships that we were aware of.

I saw her mentioned on the day of the wedding as a long time friend, and was trying to figure out who she was. I hadn't heard her mentioned till then. I could be wrong, but despite different last names, I believe Brian is her husband/partner.

The wedding was proof positive that the British royals, and the younger royals in particular, are not "close" to any of the other European royals, not even the Greek ones. We get told on this site all the time that the BRF are close to these royals or those royals, but clearly the odd afternoon tea at Balmoral does not a close friendship make.

Charles might be friendly with a few but that still bagged none of them an invite, despite the fact that friends of Charles were invited - Sir Nicholas Soames being one. I really can't imagine that he is big friends with Meghan and Harry so was likely invited purely because he is Charles's friend.

Sets a few records straight and I have no problem with it whatsoever.

I would say BRF has a business-like relationship with other royals rather than a friendship like what we saw from the continents, of course not a bad one but just business-like.

BTW I said some poster in the church service thread said some Greeks were attended (maybe Maria-Olympia), is that true? I don't see them in live and don't find any photo of them. (and I think if she is invited she definitely will post something on IG......)

I disagree, this was very much Henry and Meghans wedding and that chapel only seats so many people. We know from very recent interviews that Charles is close to Lady Frederick Windsor after her accident, but she wasn't in attendance. On the opposite end of the scale, I personally don't think Henry is quite close to Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, but they were invited. It's all about perspective frankly. :whistling:

Harry has always been close to Beatrice and Eugenie and we know that Sarah had been a good mother to them. Since her wedding to Andrew, Sarah was considered a friend of Diana and that surely made her an aunt who was available when he needed a motherly woman after Diana's death who knew her so well. Andrew and Sarah ahve always lived close to each other after the divorce, officially for the kids, so surely Sarah was there for Harry when he visited with his cousins.

So I don't wonder why Harry wanted her at his wedding, while at the reception in the evening his father would be so unhappy if Sarah attended and misbehaved (as she has done before when tipsy).

So can anyone tell me what relatives of Meghan's were supposedly at the wedding but hidden away?

She probably did it on purpose so the press wouldn't make a fuss over her outfit when they should be focusing on Meghan.

A Royal correspondent/journalist Katy Forrester spotted Doria's much younger half brother Joffrey and his mother Ava on the ITV coverage. A link was posted here on the wedding guests but I don't have it, sorry. There was also speculation that Meghan's nieces Ashliegh and Noel (who Meghan is close to) might have been present but anonymous as no one would recognise them.

I doubt Sarah was much of a mother figure to Harry seeing how she was already divorced when Diana died and Charles didn't much prefer her company. It's always been said that Tiggy is the one that comforted the princes are their mother passed away. And of course, another mention Harry had growing up was Mark Dyer.

Noel was definitely not invited. She talked about it before the wedding and her and Meghan has only met once or twice her entire life I believe.

I saw Constantine-Alexois during the service, i can try to find him but it may take me a while. I saw a female who looked like M-O beside him.

He's quite handsome. Better looking than his father.

a big group picture, apparently taken on the chapel steps.

That Group picture is taken at the South door, which has FAR fewer steps than the Great West Door [the Main entrance].
The South door gives direct access to the Quire [avoiding the Nave], and was far more practical for the Royal Family [and especially for the DoE and HMQ] to use, now they are less mobile than they once were..

Regarding the guest list I read this story about their cousin Louis Spenser,
He is quite handsome, Does he has blue eyes? the photos are not very good
His sisters are really pretty
Royal fans swoon over Princess Dianaâ€[emoji769]s dashing nephew Louis Spencer | Daily Mail Online
This is so irritating. The Spencer kids are beautiful all on their own yet everything I try to read about them compares then to Diana. Kitty looks like a prettier version of her mother not like Diana.
