After all the crap storm preceding the wedding, those family members that were invited probably wanted to blend into the surroundings and not be noticed at all and just enjoy the wedding in relative (pun intended) peace and quiet and happiness. Why give the estranged (emphasis always on strange) family members more fuel to run to the tabloids with?

The "duck lips" selfie faces have been around for a while. (I've seen younger people doing it as well, I first remember seeing it with the Kardashians). They may think it makes them look sexy, I think it makes them look goofy. A nice, natural looking smile is so much more flattering.

The Queen strikes me as a fairly tolerant person. She's well travelled and has met many, many people including those who have made different personal choices for personal adornment than she has. I can't see why it would bother her even though she probably would never wear one herself.

It was so widely reported she felt "snubbed" not being invited to the evening reception I would have thought if she had in fact been invited all along it would have quietly been allowed to be leaked to some of the media - why would the RF take flack for something that wasn't true especially in the run up to the wedding when they were being hit from all sides?!

Reason I believe Fergie wasn't invited is because Andrew, the girls, and Jack showed up to the reception together. I don't think they'd leave her out and let her get there herself. They can't do much about the situation with the ceremony, but the evening reception was completely private and not protocol ridden.

I think the likelihood that the story of her not being invited just wasn’t so. Otherwise the elaborate Clooney and the dancing duchesses (and one non-dancing one) is totally made up.

I felt sorry for Meghan's mum being the only relative of her daughter's there, but it seems like others weren't actually invited. I was also surprised to see so many other royal relatives weren't invited either, particularly Prince Michael's children who are quite high profile.

Most likely it was a fabricated story with the intent of someone actually at the evening reception coming forward and either affirming or denying the story. This way they bait someone for more details of the evening party.

Not going to happen though.

Meghan's mom had relatives there, they just weren't highlighted and seated in the Quire. I think one royal correspondent pointed out Doria's half brother and his mom. Also, we don't know what her niece and nephew look like. They were likely there, but because of the behaviour of their mother and grandfather, they didn't want the spotlight. Can't blame them.

Wouldn't be the first time though. And normally, I'd say I won't believe when they say so and so is snubbed because I just don't think Harry and Meghan are like oh, let's be mean to this person when making the guest list. It really came down to how her ex-husband and children showed up without her.

And really, if George Clooney ask you to dance, how many of us would say no?

(raises her hand). Most likely I could pass George Clooney in the frozen food department of Walmart and not recognize him.

Besides, by the time that evening party got to the dancing, I'd most likely be very content to just sit and watch the festivities around me. Now... if I was even 20 years younger, it'd be a totally different story. Still wouldn't gravitate towards Clooney though.

This was a small wedding by royal scale. And the issue about the extended royal family is that they'd have to spill over the bride's section of the Quire unless they are seated in the Nave, which would create a whole nother controversy. And if you invite one, you have to invite all. The bride did give up a few seats on her side of the Quire, but these are people that Harry are extremely close to. Even the Dyers didn't get seats in the Quire. And it'd be quite unfair to ask the bride to push all of her closest and dearest friends out to the Nave just so Harry's second and third cousins can be accomodated, at least some of whom he's not close to. There is a discussion about Freddie Windsor since they were neighbors at KP growing up, but I do question if they are close as adults since Prince Harry wasn't at Freddie's wedding.

My niece and her friends do the duck lips selfies as well. I find them silly but to each his own. Why ruin a perfectly nice picture with funny expressions. Its okay to make funny expressions every now and than but all the time?

That was the dress the Duchess wore to the Christmas lunch last year. I’d be embarrassed copying her style at her wedding, you go gals. ?
