I did read the last few pages of this thread, but nobody mentioned, that Kate wore white. That's at least what it looked like on my monitor. I thought that is a strictly "no-go" for female guests at a wedding?

The Duchess of Cambridge wore pastel yellow, an outfit she’s worn 3 time’s previously.

I raised my eyebrows when I saw Priyanka Chopra was not in the Quire (that the thing is called, right? I am not native English speaker, I am not of Church of England or Christian at all, but this was a term I read about).
I mean, Priyanka was so selfishly self-promoting, milking her friendship with Meghan so shamelessly, I would think she will be sitting right next to altar, lol
Of all Suits cast only Abigail Spencer was in the Quire. hell, even Jill Smoller, Serena Williams' agent was here, on best place, but not "bestest friend forever" Priyanka

I thought Priyanka was sat in the top left on the same side as the RF. I might be wrong but I’ll nip and check the DM.

Sofia Wellesley is a true English beauty. As expected, Serena's, The Countess of Snowdon, was perfect.

Lady Sarah Chatto, Serena, The Countess of Snowdon, and Sofia Wellesley are the best dressed for me. Looking perfect, Lady Kitty was too saccharine for me.

Every picture of Kate that I've seen has the dress looking off white. That said, half the pictures of the Queen have her in a lime green dress and half the pictures of the Queen have her in a yellow dress... I'm starting to think that this is the royal equivalent of the blue/gold dress illusion.

I remember pictures of William, Kate and Charles, I think, going to the reception, but nothing from the reception itself. But I might have missed something.

I think you are correct. The photos I remember seeing of W&K's wedding reception were not the evening dinner. Kate was still in her WA wedding dress. Then there were a few of W&K and C&C leaving to attend the evening reception after they had changed clothing.

It was released before the wedding. Though only about 300 of the guests were on the list (the full 1900 never revealed).

I was expecting Ashleigh to be there. She didn’t deserve to pay for her mother’s sins. She seemed to be close to her aunt, Meghan has always talked very fondly of her in her Instagram, of how amazing her lawyer niece was. And she was the one that helped her with Rachel Zane’s characterization, so they were in touch even after Meghan’s estrangement with Ashleigh’s mom.
Even if they were not so close in the very recent years, she is still family. I get not inviting the awful members just because of blood, but it didn’t seem to be Ashleigh’s case. Maybe she was in the Nave?

I agree, I for one am not saying the lowlife relatives should be invited but there are members of her family who are dignified and who she has some attachment too.

I think Kitty look is beautiful because of her immaculate face and skin. I also think Amal looked divine. I didn't like Pippa's dress thought Carole looked fantastic as she always does.

Frankly, I've wanted to say this, but didn't know if I should because it'd be speculative. And there is good reason to keep her in the nave as identified members of the royal brides' families tend to be stalked. The woman currently leads a private life and has taken pains to keep her family's life private so far.

True. Family like Ashleigh and others like Christopher could easily be seated in the nave some where and we would not know. There is no guest list. And she wouldn't be recognized. It would be smart to have seated them in the crowd some where so they avoid any scrutiny.

One more thing on guest fashion. Men on Suits, like Gabriel, Patrick, and Rick all got a morning suit when they likely wouldn't wear it again, and yet George Clooney, who spends part of his time in London and likely have more chances to attend weddings in London, shows up in a suit? Thanks for saying this--the thought crossed my mind as well (and apparently some others here from responses to your post.) If we wouldn't recognize Meghan's niece and nephew, it is doubtful they would be easily identified in the crowd of people by the (in most cases) less informed press.


I can easily see Meghan and Harry keeping them under the radar so they could continue leading their private lives. If could also be that they were offered an invitation and declined to maintain their privacy.

Well, there goes the no family concerns. And honestly, I do think it's better for them not to be in the Quire. It's not a snub or anything as there are other people incredibly close to the couple that didn't make Quire (no, I'm not talking Elton, I'm talking about the Dyers). And they'd be harrassed by the press to talk if they were identified as close. It's unfortunate, but that's just the it is.

I agree maybe people will stop going on about how there's something wrong with Meghan and Doria because no family was there. I also would not be surprised if Meghan's niece Ashley was there.

There is limited space in the Quire in St. George's chapel and it's entirely possible that they did not want to sit in such a prominent and visible spot.
