Again I don't think QMLK and chandelier earrings is a nice combination. Rather disappointing hairstyle as well.

And yet, I loved all three. I actually think this is the nicest outing of the LK, possibly because it sort of looks like a halo because of the hairstyle.

I love this combination of earrings and the QMLK tiara and I like the combination of the tiara and the hair. I agree that it's a very good look for her.

Agreed. The tiara, hair style, and earrings compliment each other nicely.

It all works: tiara, earrings, dress and hair. Why fix it, if it a'int broke.

Did anyone identify the brooch worn by the Princess last night?

A nice IG post featuring many of the Princess' earrings.

Rings worn by Kate in a new video congratulating the UK / Great Britain's 2024 Olympic team.

She is not wearing her sapphire engagement ring. She is wearing her wedding ring and the eternity band she is believed to have gotten around the time of Prince George's birth.

The third ring may be a promise ring Kate receive when she and William were dating, first seen publicly on her graduation day from St. Andrews., it may be the promise ring with alterations or a new ring. The uncertainty is due to there being only a quick glimpse of the rings on the video.

Maybe someone remembers - have we seen the sapphire engagement ring on PoW since she finished her chemo?

:previous:She doesn't appear to be wearing her Sapphire engagement ring today while she and William met with members of the emergency services at the Southport Community Centre in Southport.

You can see 4 rings here - wedding ring, eternity ring (from George's birth) alongside 2 newish rings (we have seen them briefly in videos from the Olympics and the end of chemo montage). One is a large diamond eternity band and a sapphire and diamond eternity band.

I wonder if these were gifted for the birth of her other children and she hasn't worn them in public until now.

I did think recently maybe she will retire Diana's ring - its large and heavy and a little dated and these modern stacks of rings are more 21st century

Good point about the ring, also Catherine is her own woman, she no longer needs Dianas ring. In a way maybe these other rings are more special to her as they reflect her life with William. I think I went a bit deep there. Or it could simply be she has lost weight during the treatment and it was falling off her finger.

That's what I think. Her weight is probably still fluctuating and she wants to wait to wear her ring again.
I doubt she will simply put it aside; it is, after all, her engagement ring!

That’s my thinking too. She wouldn’t suddenly not wear her engagement ring. She’s worn it constantly over the years. I have associated it more with her than Diana for many years now.
I've always had a somewhat divided opinon on the fact that Dianas famous ring became Kates engagement ring - as much as I can understand the sentimental value it has for Prince William and his wish to give it to his then bride, as much I do think that every woman deserves her own engagement ring.

I read somewhere that William offered Kate a choice of either Diana's ring, or if she preferred, a new one. She opted for the sapphire.

This new YouTube podcast documentary was from yesterday and discusses the Jewels used or created specifically for the Prince of Wales title.

My notes and things I remembered from Charles crowning when I was a kid.

  • I recall as a child his coronation at Wales was on the news and it was the first time I saw a coronation of anybody. At the time we were under the Franco dictatorship and Spain doesn't do coronation ceremonies for the prince(ss) of Asturias or king/queen of Spain title.
  • I was not aware that the prince of Wales coronation of Edward VIII was partly politics of the times, partly to get reacquainted with the Welsh royal history.
  • I had no idea the Duke of Windsor and his wife, Wallis Simpson, took with them the jewels!?! Considering on what was exposed after his passing, on his association with Hitler trying to make him a puppet king after invading the UK, I think this was scandalous. But that explains why Charles had to use a different coronet at the ceremony since the Duke of Windsor had the jewels with him in Paris.
  • Anyone knows if these jewels were returned to Queen Elizabeth II after her traitor uncle (but she didn't know it then) right after he passed away?
  • Anyone knows if William will be crowned someday? or, at least use the Wales crown if he attends an official ceremony over there?

As far as I know, the Prince of Wales has no intention of having an Investiture Ceremony. I recall that was made shared after KCIII ascended to the throne and proclaimed on Sept. 9, 2022 that William and was to be the Prince of Wales.

The coronet that Edward VIII/Duke of Windsor took with him abroad was returned to UK after his death in 1972.

William has no intention to have an investiture as Prince of Wales the way Charles had. That was made known after his fathers accession..

Charles never wore his coronet except at the investiture… When he took his seat in the House of Lords in 1970 (wich royals don’t do anymore) the coronet was carried in front of him…. So no i don’t think William will ever wear any of the coronets.

I find it a shame that William appears to have ruled out any form of investiture. I would think it unlikely that it will be resurrected in the future.

At a time of austerity it would not be a good look. I think William would cut back on a great deal of the ceremonial if he could get away with it.
