I forgot to add my compliments to the royal ladies.
Although I didn't really care for the gown, I thought Christina looked good (I liked her hair and the tiara, though small, doesn't disappear in the hairstyle - better than previous years after height was added to the base.)
Something weird was going on with Silvia's hair again, only on her right side this year. It only showed from the side. It looked like they put hairspray as she was driving in a convertible. But from the front and back it looked okay. But she looked really good.
IMHO Victoria looked stunning tonight. Nothing to nitpick, nothing to criticize, and I LOVED that the back of the gown was open...very sexy without being trashy. Without the tiara she looked like something out of the 1940s, very sophisticated and glamorous.
BTW...I too was wrong in thinking there would be one row of seating for the royal family. It did seem odd that Daniel was in the back, but it could also have been meant to clearly define Victoria's precedence and future responsibility at this function when she is the sovereign.
