I realize the press can make a story out of such a picture, of course, but what the picture itself sells for is another story.

Diana herself implied that in the Panorama interview: "…they all shout at me, telling me that: `Oh, come on, Di, look up. If you give us a picture I can get my children to a better school.' " This was confirmed in royal biography programs during interviews with Mark Saunders and Glenn Harvey when they talked about Diana covering her face, etc.

^True, yeah that Mark Saunders guy is so creepy. And Glenn Harvey, wasn't he the one who was stalking Diana, even sometimes sleeping outside the gates of KP, and once I think she grabbed the keys of his motorcycle to stop him following her. I know all paparazzi are like "stalkerazzi" but if I recall correctly, the Harvey guy seriously crossed over into her personal space.

I feel bad for her, to tell the truth. I know she's dating the future King so she's not exactly going to be ignored, but until there's a ring on her finger (be it engagement or wedding), she should be left alone for the most part. She shouldn't have to shield her face when walking down the street. That's no kind of life.

The whole situation is unfortunate, but I have to give her props for the way she's handled it. I think she's done well to take Paddy Harverson's advice to just smile when people take her picture. She's proven that she can be poised and graceful under pressure -- something that will help her tremendously if she and William do get married.

I agree aswell. I think that some people underestimate the pressures that must accompany her situation right now. She's handled it the only way she knows how, and it's inspiring.

Life is not what you do, but what you make of it. It is the same for everyone, even Kate. She has problems like all of us. How she deals with those problems is what matters. The problems themselves do not matter so much as how she copes. It is the same for everyone. How you cope makes the difference. She can cry and say, "this sucks" and hide herself forever. Or she can hold her head high and make the most of it. I also think she copes admirably.
I don't feel sorry for her though because I think there is nothing to feel sorry for. She is coping with her lot, like we all cope with our lots. It is no different.

I dont think the look is that dramatically changed. I'd say her hair is now a shade or two lighter and her eyebrows are now plucked. Other than that she looks the same to me.

That picture resembles some of the photos I've seen of her from around the time she started at St Andrews. I think part of it is just that major change in looks that happens for lots of people in their early and mid-twenties.

Sadly I couldn't watch the very early pics of her, as a baby for example, cause the links don't work anymore. Well, beauty's really in the eye of the beholder, but she's certainly not my cup of tea. I wish, there would be a little bit more aristocratic in her face or behaviour... :nonono:
