I can truly empathize with you on how oral surgery is just that. A surgery with all the trimmings and the pain afterwards. I hope the oral surgeon gave you some good drugs to help with the pain. Don't forget to keep rinsing the mouth with warm salt water if that's what the doctor ordered. It does help and saves troubles in the long run.
All I can say about the mementos is wOw!! Those are genuine pieces of royal history in their original state and a beautiful addition to a collection that means something to you. I'm reading King Edward VIII's biography at the moment and almost up to the point where he marries Wallis Simpson so it was really nice to see a photo of the original picture in the Daily Mail that you posted.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh really were the golden couple of their time weren't they? Probably even more so than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are now I'd wager.
