Queen Mathilde Jewels 2: 2022 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I thought so too. And I also thought it came from her own family.

I love the pearl jewels on this Queen. One of the most elegant Queens of her generation.

White Pearls are for Funerals ?
"White" or colorless jewels were/are considered appropriate for mourning.
As Laura has said, white or colourless stones are appropriate. Pearls have certainly become de rigueur, especially among royal ladies. I am guessing that most of them have a plethora of wonderful pearl necklaces, earrings and bracelets, and while diamonds are technically "colourless" stones, it is the setting that denotes how appropriate they are.

I think one of the royal necklaces best suited to mourning is Camilla's three-string necklace with a diamond clasp is a perfect balance. The pearls are the most beautiful colour and the diamond clasp can be worn at the back under her hair for daywear and exposed for eveningwear.

I think this is the choker that Mathilde wore to Pope Benedict's funeral. Please correct me as the photo isn't quite clear to I tried to find another photo to show the choker.

Yes, most likely it was Mathilde d'Udekem d'Acoz own choker when she entered the royal family.

Indeed it is her own. A lot of Belgian Ladies have the same. I don't think they are Akoya pearls ?

Queen Mathilde wore a gilded earrings and bracelet and a sapphire ring at her official photo

I attend Queen Fabiola's Funerals . IT was so cold and windy . I was in the Cathedral 2 hours before warmly dressed.
Then I saw the Royals entering with elegant mourning Clothes , high heels , pearls , hats etc..., and I thought to myself there is a sort of haute couture for funerals Then I said the Queen was my Queen and I am so glad attending her Funerals and to have a place I got from the Cathedral.

The Butterfly Brooch is beautiful and a real stand out piece.

Its certainly the most 'queenly' tiara in the Belgian Collection but would still love to still the queen wear the Spanish Wedding Gift tiara of the late queen Fabiola!

Please see a website called The Court Jeweller which has a brilliant article about Queen Mathilde jewellery that was bought at fairly recent auctions.

Nice she bought brooches and a kunzite parure ans wears it
I don't know if Queen Paola will give some of her jewels to her ?

I think Queen Mathilde has a better jewel collection than her mother in law which was fine for the Princess of Liege but never exactly queenly.

The deco bandeau tiara has more value the Queen 's Wedding tiara !

Hopefully the Art Deco Bandeau will remain in the main line.

I would hope that is the case, but the Belgian RF haven't always been great at preserving jewellery with provenance within the main line.

Hopefully going forward they will keep the jewels in the family and do without expensive Yachts, helicopters and gadgets!

One hopes that will be true. Especially as Mathilde is having to rebuild the collection step by step.

And by all accounts the queen is replenishing the Belgian jewel chest bit by bit.
