HM unveiled a metal art object at the Sea of Steel art park at Wijk aan Zee today on occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Art Exhibit there:

Queen Beatrix awards a medal of honour to organist Gustav Leonardt
at the Palace Huis ten Bosch in The Hague, Netherlands, 22 May 2009.
Leonardt is organist at the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam.

I wonder why the new church has a organist, since it is not used as a church anymore.

Nice to see the Orange Hall is being used!
 
29-05-2009 The Hague Queen Beatrix with Princess Maxima and Prince Willem-Alexander attended the ceremony of the Militaire Willems-Orde which is awarded to Kapitein Marco Kroon. HM The Queen will visit the exhibition on Queen Juliana at Het Loo Palace this saturday june 6th.
HM will be accompanied by members of the Royal Family.

Originally HM was scheduled to open this exhibition on Queensday,but due to the tragedy nothing came of it.

I am pleased to see that the exhibition will be opened by HM, even though it is happening later than originally planned. Which members of the royal family will attend?

HM will not open the exhibit,but visit it as it was open to the public as scheduled the week after Queensday except it didn't have a official opening due to the tragedy.

I am sure the Apeldoorn branche will be there,not sure yet on all the others.

Queen Beatrix looks very vibrant and happy in the photos from today. It is very nice that she was there to give attention to a child psychiatry center; especially in light of the horrors from this past April.
 
HM will attend the 62nd edition of the Holland Festival this evening at the Stadsschouwburg,Amsterdam.

05-06-2009 Schokland Queen Beatix unvealed the National Inland Shipping Monument, at the occasion of 160 year Royal Schuttevaer, at Schokland.
The monument is made by Ids Willemsma.
The Queen is patronesss of the Royal Schuttevaer.

HM and all other members,except HRH Prince Friso,will be in attendance.
This afternoon HM and the RF will meet and thank everyone who worked to make Queensday in Apeldoorn a success,untill the tragedy.:flowers:

HM will bestow the Silver Carnations to volunteers working the larger part of their lives to preserve culture and nature preservation.

The link says he received a note of HM, thanking him for his congratulations on her birthday. Now if he sent that congratulations in January it must have gotten lost in some corner of Noordeinde perhaps :ermm:.
 
HM will re/open the Royal Palace Amsterdam today after years of restauration.

In the evening HM will attend the 40th Poetry International Festival,Schouwburg Rotterdam.

Wow! The art in the palace is amazing. I really liked the first photo of the two sisters together. They also look like they were in awe of the gorgeous palace.

Gorgious indeed,the result of the 3 1/2 year long restauration is just so amazing from what we knew,just beautiful.There are 7 meter high christal chandeliers that were broken up and laying on the attick for decades and decades,forgotten,now they have been found again and restored to their splendour.Breathtakingly beautifull.The Palace is transformed from a giant marble "bathhouse" into a warm Palace with beautiful carpets ao,and much,if not all of its empire furniture back in the original colours,gold and red.The Palace houses the largest collection of original Empire furniture outside France,since the days of King Louis Napoléon.
