I agree, they both seem to have much greater confidence in their public roles than they did a few years ago.

The charities that are being supported today are: This year those charities are:
SHOUT
Wales Air Ambulance
Centrepoint
The Passage
Mountain Rescue England & Wales
Foundling Museum
Forward Trust
East Anglia Children's Hospices
Baby Basics, Little Village, AberNecessities

I was really struck by the genuine closeness of their relationship as shown in these pics. You can always tell ‘manufactured’ affection, and this is far from it. So lucky that the couple share this given the heavy responsibilities that lay ahead.

The Wales will attend a memorial service for HLM Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2023 at St. David's Cathedral.

Thanks for the links. So lovely and poignant.

I love St David's and the tribute did look very poignant. Clearly it makes sense that they're in Wales for this anniversary as it is also (almost) the anniversary of them becoming PPOW.

The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Madley Primary School's Forest and AS headquarters (Sterling Lines) in Hereford today, September 14:

:previous: The Duchy of Cornwall has been supporting this forest school site for years now. This looks like a fun event for the children today. ?
The Duchy of Cornwall and Madley Primary School have been partners of the Forest School initiative for the last 12 years as the Duchy supplied Madley Primary School with a woodland site at Brampton Hill Wood in order to enable the Forest School to take place in Hereford.

Over the subsequent years, due the school's expansion, the woodland area that the Duchy provides has increased, along with the facilities available.

It was a true honor to meet with the Prince and Princess of Wales. We had a wonderful and wide-ranging discussion about the environment, mental health, and other issues that mean a great deal to all of us.

On Monday, Kensington Palace announced that the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 41, will step out in Scotland on Thursday to meet organizations that support rural communities in Moray and Inverness. The couple will learn more about how the causes support the mental health of young people through access to the great outdoors and practical learning opportunities.

The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed a young woman with cancer, Liz Roboyna, to Windsor Castle.

I can't imagine being told at 16 that you have a rare, untreatable form of cancer and only between 6 months and three years to live. I don't know if photographing royalty was on the photography bucket list she created, but it's lovely that William reached out and invited her to photograph the investiture.

I am glad that the Princess of Wales was able to join in at this private event today

It's wonderful to see Kate make an appearance like this. She looks really tired, though. The smoky eye makeup doesn't help that. I hope she gets all the rest she needs!

What an amazing opportunity for Liz and her family, I hope that she had a wonderful day! I hope that she manages to tick off as many photography experiences on her wish list as she can. Catherine looked lovely as usual and I note that William is keeping the beard so far, which I approve of!

"Obviously it was about Liz and making Liz feel special but I think often in these situations siblings get forgotten and it’s really tough on them too." In tears, she added: "They made him feel part of such an incredible day and when his sister isn’t here, and she won't be, because she only has eight to ten weeks to live at this point, he has a memory he can tell his children and grandchildren.
That article was very sweet, but a total tearjerker. This part about Liz's brother hit me especially hard. My heart aches for that entire family, realizing the enormous loss they are all facing. I pray that they have more time than their expecting and that the rest of Liz's life is filled with wonderful things.

The Mirror had a conversation with young Liz regarding her experience at Windsor Castle.

This was a tearjerker, for sure.

I’m so happy that this was such a lovely, positive experience for Liz and her family.

It sounds like William, Catherine and their staff did everything they could to make this special and memorable.

Everything from being sure to include her little brother, to talking to Liz about her photography, putting Liz’s photos on their instagram so they’d get a wide audience, etc.

And also- by surprising them by having William and Catherine both visiting with them at all. They’d at most thought they might get a quick hello from William. Instead they got a conversation with both.

I’m not surprised something like this wasn’t on the bucket list because it was so just big. Love that she got this opportunity.
