Albert is looking good lately. Thanks for the pics iceflower. :)

You're most welcome, Nathalie Cox :)

During the event 30 athletes were meeting in Monaco to announce
the launch of the "Champions of Peace", a group of athletes committed
and willing to serve world peace through sport. Surely a project Albert
supports a lot.

Here are some bigger additions:

:xmasbell: hmmn whatever he's doing he should "do" because he looks greaat!
:xmasbell: It such a fab idea and i find that it's wonderful to have such a group of important people in Monaco today! Does PA & family celebrate Thanksgiving since PA was from America?? :candycane:

PA's next outing on November 30th:

The National Press Club in Washington DC, where he will talk about Monaco's sustainable practices and the protection of the marine environment.
(His great-grandfather Albert I addressed the Press Club in 1913).

He'll also attend the Antarctic Treaty summit at the Smithsonian Museum.

On Wednesday, November 25, Albert had one more event,
he inaugurated the first Tesla store in Monaco and France
with Elon Musk CEO of Tesla.

The Tesla Roadster is an all-electric sports car produced by the electric
car firm Tesla Motors. The Roadster is the first production automobile to
use lithium-ion battery cells and the first production EV to travel more
than 200 miles (320 km) per charge.

Wow at those cars! I would have like to be there, to see the Prince and the cars. :D Powerful cars, uh?
Thanks for the info! :)

Yeah, he looks great next to posh cars, but I suspect the photocall was another opportunity to show his commitment to alternative technologies. No wonder he gets so many opportunities to show it, and the manufacturers get excellent piblicity into the bargain!

The German wikipedia entry says 252 PS, in case that helps ;) I always forget
how to transform PS into kilometres per hour.. If you search for "Tesla Roadster"
on the internet, you can find quite a lot of sites and information :)

Albert is the Patron of the second International Congress on Resposible Stem Cell Research, held in Monaco in November 26th to 28th.

The event is organised by the World Federation of the Catholic Medical Associations, the Pontifical Academy for life, the Bioethical Consultative Committee of Monaco, and the Foundation Jérome Lejeune.

The theme of the congress is: "Adult Somatic Stem Cells: New Perspectives".

:easter:It's very comforting that at least there are pictures that Caroline & Stephanie and the children will be able to have of the funeral activities. It is obviously a difficult time for their family so we are glad they had the privacy that they needed for themselves with just a few pics for everyone.

He certainly looks the business! No wonder .... he's on his favourite stamping ground.

Thanks NC,
Does anybody know thecause of death for 76 yarold Lizanne who missed her sister's wedding?Prince Albert chivalrous as a pallbearer at his Aunt Lizanne's funeral. And if I am not mistaken a tear or two in the last pic. This closes a chapter that was like a final link to Grace.Life to Aunt Lizanne's son and family, the Grimaldis and all the rest of us.

Thanks for the pics iceflower.
Ah that mishchievous side of the Kelly genes surfacing in PA as he strides past photographers.

No cause of death was stated for Lizanne in any of the articles I read. However, I believe she suffered several dibilitating illnesses which caused her to sell the Kelly beach home and move to a retirement/assisted living community close to her suriviving son Chris LeVine and her grandchildren.

:candycane: we certainly didn't hear what type of Cancer she had or what else lizzy suffered from. She was certainly blessed to have lived long enough to see the children and watch them grow.

:bauble: PA pics in DC turned out wonderful. It was gladdening to see him happy and in good spirits in spite of everything! Pa is certainly comfortable in his stomping grounds of New York!:poinsettia:

Going back to the end of November, PA attended a dinner of the "Association Monaco-Italie" at the Hotel Hermitage, the final event of the A.M.I calendar for 2009.

The Association had invited a sister organisation, "Mare Vivo" which, like A.M.I., is concerned with the protection of the Mediterranean Sea and the creatures that live in it.

The event showcased a particular water plant, Posidonia oceanica, which is an endangered plant affected by pollution and the proliferation of algae. It serves as a barometer for the quality of the marine environment of the Mediterranean.

Among the guests was Signor Gaetano Scullino, the mayor of next-door Ventimiglia.

Prince Albert and the Antarctic Treaty
On Wednesday, PA took part in the Summit on the 50th anniversary of the Antarctic Treaty at the Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C.

In his speech, he underligned the exemplary character of of the Treaty as an instrument of action for a particularly sensitive area, purely for the furtherance of science.

He also underligned the fundamental role played by the scientific community as a moral force for the planet, independent and respected.
Later on that day the Prince Albert II Foundation signed an accord with the Smithsonian on collaboration and knowledge exchange.

PA then went to the National Geographic Society for a work session to establish the groundwork for mutual cooperation between NGS and FPA. He concluded his visit by joining the US branch of his Foundation for a soirée.

Thanks for the pics iceflower, they are great.
I see many members of the Family doing several and different things on the same day: Caroline at Nurse School, Charlotte competing in France, an Albert in a Stamp exhibithion. :)

You're welcome :flowers:

Albert appeared on German television this week, he was a guest
at the talkshow "Beckmann" that was shown on November 30,
recorded a few days earlier I guess. An expert for climate impact
research and an eco-visionary were invited as well, but besides
that discussion, Albert had to answer a lot of private questions
as well, the usual ones about his parents and sisters..

About Grace he said "She was a fantastic mother. We saw her
films with her. For me, it was hard to see my mother beside me,
while seeing her on television as well " and about his sisters he
said : "My sisters and I are very, very close. These ties are
becoming stronger. "

When talking about the comming climate summit in Copenhagen
Albert said that he wasn't too optimistic that it would come to
concrete agreements, but still he hoped for substantive decisions,
which can then be implemented in the next decade.

Here are two pics from the show: ** Albert 1 ** Albert 2 **

Yesterday, December 4, Prince Albert and guests celebrated
the 25th birthday of the Princess Grace Irish Library in Monaco
(Prince Rainier had founded it in 1984).

In the evening Albert attended the opening of the annual
Christmas market at Port Hercule in Monaco that is open
from December 4th till January 3rd.

Oh! I would like to go to that market!
And the photos for the celebration of the Princess Grace Irish Library are awesome. The hall in where they are makes them awesome. It's so elegant :flowers:

Oh! I would like to go to that market!

The following link contains a video of the Christmas market
and Albert attending the first day. It shows how colourful
and full of lights the market is and how many different things
you can see, do - and buy ;)

On Thursday, December 3, Albert attended a concert the association
Asmae has organized as a tribute to its founder, Sister Emmanuelle
(who died in October 2008) at the Grimaldi Forum. The concert included
classical music, blues, bossa nova, samba and gypsy music - a surely
nice and interesting mixture :)
