The Majesty visit his country
"24 October, 2016: His Majesty The King arrived in Lhedi in Lunana yesterday after trekking over the Gangla Karchung, at an altitude of 5,250m, from Laya.
The first settlement in Lunana is at Wachey, where a family welcomed His Majesty to spend the night in their home. His Majesty met with the people who live in Wachey before trekking onwards to Lhedi.
Today, His Majesty spent the day with the people of Lhedi and granted Tokha to the people from nearby areas. The people celebrated the visit with songs, dance, and games. Bhutanese films were screened for the people in the evening.
His Majesty’s Kidu Mobile Medical Unit set up a medical camp for the people, who have to otherwise travel long distances to avail advanced healthcare.
In the next few days, His Majesty will continue trekking through Lunana, and visit villages in Tshojong and Thanza- some of the most faraway inhabited places in Bhutan- to meet with the people.

And the trip continue
28 October, 2016:
His Majesty The King is in Thanza, the largest and furthest village in Lunana. His Majesty visited the glaciers and glacial lakes of Thorthomi, Rapstreng, and Lugge, yesterday.
Beautiful country, beautiful pictures!!!
"His Majesty The King met 12 year old Namgay Kiba and her grandmother, Kinley, in 2008, while visiting Tashoe village, near Lhedi. Namgay Kiba is now 20, and recently married.
“His Majesty recognized me instantly, and wanted to know how I and my family were doing. I feel blessed to have met His Majesty twice already, even though I live in such a far off place,” she said

More from the trip of the King in his country!
"His Majesty with the people of Sephu, the first settlement since Thanza in Lunana, and the end of the trekking route. His Majesty completed the trek across Lunana, and arriving here on Coronation Day, spent the day with the people."

"His Majesty The King at Rinchen Zoe la (5,290m). Numerous lakes are scattered across the mountains of Bhutan, revered because of their importance to us as sources of our rivers. The abundance of water in Bhutan is our greatest resource, powering the economy, irrigating valleys, and allowing a great diversity of life to flourish downstream, all at the same time."

"His Majesty at the Rinchen Zoe la, the highest place on the trail.
As the snow begins to lay thicker along the passes around Lunana, the people of Lunana will make their final treks outside the valley at this time, to buy rations for the long winter ahead. Soon, the mountains passes will be inaccessible, and Lunana cut off from the rest of the country until the snow melts."

"It is a long and strenuous climb through moraine (glacial debris) to cross the Rinchen Zoe la. Accompanying His Majesty on this trek, are horsemen and guides from Laya and Lunana. The same men accompanied His Majesty across Lunana in 2008."

"The route that His Majesty trekked through across Lunana is widely known as the Snowman Trek, and is considered by many to be the toughest trek in the world, even when it is attempted during a more favourable season, with a more forgiving schedule– a travel magazine said that the success rate of scaling Everest is higher than completing the Snowman trek."
