Discovery makes a documentary about the king's 50 years on the throne. Reporter Åsa Lindeborg interviewed governor Marita Ljung about the royal couple's visit.
- What does it mean for Jämtland that the king visits the county?
It is important to pay attention to and remember those who have made extra efforts in connection with the pandemic, the governor said.
- What does it mean for Jämtland that the king is the duke of this particular county?
It is of course extra honorable but I do not think we have any extra benefits because of it more than that the king may be a little extra very private in the county.
- How far in advance do you have to plan a visit like this and what are the preparations required?
It takes quite a long preparation, several months. Programs, participation, logistics, meals must be coordinated based on the court's wishes. Based on the wishes, we compose a program that interests and above all in a good way visualizes reality.
- Are you nervous about something going wrong?
We have planned very well and you can also be flexible if something unexpected happens. Nervous may not be the right word but a little expectant and tense maybe.

The royal couple meets ABBA - the secret trip to London
The royal couple are charging for an intense long weekend in London, and probably to meet one or more of the members of ABBA.
The royal couple will go in the end of May to the spectacular and very hyped "ABBAtar concert" in front of 3,000 supposedly jubilant spectators in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the court revealed when Svensk Damtidning was at the Royal Palace today. It promises both a great music experience and a nice nostalgia kick. And it will probably be very VIP-tight around them.
The royal couple has a lot on the agenda during their days in London. On Friday 27 May, they will go to a tuxedo dinner at the luxury hotel The Rosewood to celebrate the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
The hope is that the planned audience with Queen Elizabeth can be completed: A royal super-summit, perhaps in the form of afternoon tea in her private apartment on Windsor.
