General News about Frederik, Mary and Family Part 20: December 2023 -

Crown Prince Christian did not stay a long time in Paris with his Father King Frederik . I suppose his Mother was Regent.
Only the Crown Prince can be Regent. Since the King and CP left Dk for only a couple of hours and returned on the same day they left, there was no Rigsforstander (head of the realm) appointed, although all 4 persons who can act as Rigsforstander (Mary, Margrethe, Joachim, Benedikte) were in Dk on Sunday.

It does. It's about encouraging people to leave a patch of wilderness in their garden or field, to allow for bio-diversity in regards to insects, plants and flowers and not least attract bees.

"The summer tour has just ended, which means that Queen Mary and King Frederik have room in the calendar to attend Baroness Helle Reedtz-Thott's 50th birthday party at Gavnø Castle"

They both look good!

Very close friends indeed.
Queen Mary stayed for a while at Gavnø manor when she came to DK. - And presumably while arrangements could be made as to where she would officially live and various work permits, residence permits, setting up bank accounts and a multitude of other details were done, while she stayed out of the public eye.

The Royal Household has shared a post about International Dog Day.
The post features a text written by Queen Mary.

Lovely message and the pictures are too cute!

Nice note on Frederik's great interest and knowledge. Always nice to read from people that have met him, how well prepared and interested in the subject Frederik is.
"Researcher and professor Lene Oddershede reveals that King Frederik is incredibly knowledgeable about a very special subject.
...
- He is really interested in artificial intelligence and data science and new technologies in general. As a physicist, I can distinguish good from bad, and when I have spoken to him, I have been really impressed by his interest, Lene Oddershede tells the newspaper about the extremely AI-interested king."

Nice to hear! Frederik, unfairly, gets labeled as only caring about sports and people just assume he is not smart for some reason (which is ridiculous given his background). However, people that have actually met him and spoken to him always say how knowledgeable he is about the subject matter, he asks intelligent in-depth questions, shows actual interest and how obvious it is he is prepared. So, it is always great to hear these types of comments from experts in, as here, the AI field (or whichever field the engagement covered) how Frederik knows his stuff and shows genuine interest.

That's good to hear because AI is something Denmark is really investing in these years, to the extent of the resources and money the country can spend on that field.
In short: DK wants to be, if not at the very top in regards to AI, then certainly right behind the leading countries.
There is a broad consensus in the Parliament about this course, so no matter what government will come after the next general election and the election after that, that course is set.

On September 23rd DR will air a program called "King Frederik X - The King of Greenland. It appears to have been filmed during King Frederik and Queen Mary's recent official visit to Greenland.

Frederik this weekend in Germany with his cousin Gustav and Carina.
Looks like a classical car race

Mystery solved! Nice to see him visiting his cousin. Hasn't he attended this race before?

- Greenland has shaped me and strengthened me through the years 🇬🇱 ❤️
Watch 'Frederik X - The King of Greenland' on DRTV.

I believe we can watch it here

King Frederik will use his close relationship with the Greenlanders to strengthen the Commonwealth
No Danish monarch has had such a close relationship with the Greenlanders as King Frederik. The king will use this to strengthen the Commonwealth of Nations, despite the growing desire for independence in Greenland.

Thanks. Looking forward to watching it. If I watch on my computer - Google Translate gives me English subtitles! There is already a sweet story on BB of when Frederik and Vincent went to visit the sled dogs...they were gifted dog leashes made in Greenland and Vincent quickly said he would use it on Coco.

Queen Mary has talked to Danish magazine Bo Bedre about the circular annex at the Chancellery House:

It is a building created by innovative thinking, and hopefully everyone involved will take the inspiration with them into new building projects – both at home and abroad”.Her Majesty the Queen tells in an article in the magazine Bo Bedre, which is published today, about the King and Queen's circular annex at the Chancellery House. The annex is an old workshop building that has been converted with a focus on reuse and recycling. In the article, the Queen, the architect, the contractor and the landscape architect talk about creating a free space for creative and innovative recycling and about the annex's interaction with the Royal Couple's wild garden. The annex is used, among other things, for meeting activities and representative purposes.

Very Interesting concept and idea. Nice to see the particular interest become creations.

"According to all the most sustainable rules of art, the royal couple have reconstructed a former workshop building behind Cancellihuset into an annex that serves as a meeting room. "

"- There was thought and drawing, and my husband and I followed the project from start to finish by being involved in what could be done, and in collaboration with craftsmen and architects finding the right solution."

How neat that it is something both Frederik and Mary collaborated on, like teh renovation of Amelienborg. Great to have the couple's input

That's wonderful! I love how they get so involved in the project. Also, how it is directly related to their core areas of focus. Oh yes, I recall watching the documentary on Frederik VIII's renovations and how much they were involved in all the decisions during the remodel. I also have noticed in the photos that the beautiful table Queen Mary had a part in designing is now housed in the annex. What a great idea/project.

Seems like the King Frederik Exhibit at Amalienborg Museum has been a huge success!

- The exhibition has been shown for just over 4 months at the Amalienborg Museum and has been seen by 131,000 guests. This is a visitor record, and we are very happy about that. We experience a great interest in the reigning monarch; the Danes clearly want to get closer to the person behind the king's title and to get to know the King better, which the large influx of visitors to the exhibition 'Frederik 10. – King of Tomorrow' confirms. In particular, we notice that the exhibition has attracted a wider audience, where more younger visitors and more generations come together than we normally see at the museum, says Nanna Ebert.

BilledBladet highlighted this special day for Frederik and Mary, 21 years since their engagement interview
"King Frederik lovingly puts his arm around his wife as they walk inside. It is actually also a very special "love date" for the royal couple today."
