Yesterday, November 30, Sophie, Countess of Wessex attended the official opening
of Jack's Place, Naomi House Hospice in Hampshire. Jack's Place offers hospice care
to young adults till the age of 25. The other specialist unit is the Naomi House for
children.

Finally some pics of her trip to Paderborn, I had already been disappointed
about the German press that didn't pay attention to that visit.

The date given - December 14 - is not correct, it's been last week, December
9. I was only able to make a screenshot of a concert Sophie attended.
A group of children sang Christmas carols at a church.

I would suggest that the Queen is also conscious of Sophie's position in the family and that giving her too much jewellery would send the wrong message to people about that.

That's what I was thinking, too!

The Queen is the Queen. Pettiness is not a word that belongs to her vocabulary. Reportedly, HM likes Sophie a lot. I suppose this means that she's satisfied with the fact that her son has found a good partner and that their marriage is stable and happy. This doesn't mean that the Queen will act inequitably, offering Sophie more jewels etc. than the others.

If you watch The Monarchy at Work programme that was on BBC a few years ago, at some point Edward talks about being patrons of various things & how he chooses what he represents or agrees to etc. If I remember rightly he said something along the lines of that charities/events for children, sport & fighting diseases were the most popular things to help with & he quite liked finding areas that perhaps weren't so popular with other members of the family or were more likely to be over-looked etc as he felt he could do more help that way. I always thought that was a good idea by him, helps perhaps the lesser known/less "fashionable" charities & organisations get a bit of a boost.
