The Royal Couple of Bhutan will be there

"His Majesty will be traveling onward to the United Kingdom with Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen to attend the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II."

If the dress code for the ladies on Monday is similar to in 1952, we might have our only chance to see if there are any unexpected or unknown recipients of the late Queen's Royal Family Order. (George VI's order was worn to his funeral.)

I didn't expect the Savoy's to be invited to the funeral. Quite a surprise but very decent of the British court to include a non-reigning house -if that is the case. As I do not read Italian: will he be attending the actual funeral in the Abbey, or will he be at the embassy/ among the public in the street etc?

I wonder when the last time was when a member of the house of Savoy participated in any British royal function. It must have been ages ago. Unlike CP Alexander of Serbia, the Prince of Piedmont -who was also a Crown Prince during his lifetime- never attended the jubilees of the Queen.

I am happy that pretenders to thrones (or their representatives in this case) have been included too, and not only living former monarchs like King Constantine. Any chance that the Duke of Braganza and the Count of Paris might have been invited too?

I might be wrong, but I believe King Charles III wishes the British monarchy to have closer ties to its continental counterparts in Europe.

On September 14th, Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno announced Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako will visit London from September 17 to 20 to attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

The decision will be formalized at the Cabinet meeting on the 16th.

Amazing. Remember when they were supposed to come for the 2020 state visit that was never rescheduled? I wish it wasn't like this.

Margravine Valerie and the hereditary prince couple Bernhard Prince of Baden and Stephanie Princess of Baden will attend the funeral of HM Q.Elizabeth II

That sounds as if the Margrave himself is no longer able to travel/attend a state funeral. As I am sure he would have attended his aunt's funeral if possible - both as her oldest nephew (he is 89 himself) as well as the head of the House of Baden whose previous Head was married to Prince Philip's sister Theodora.

Have BP issued a list of what royals will be attending?

Margrave Max has been in poor health for a number of years.

Do we know which members of the family will be there? By today I guess all of them. The great grandchildren? Bowes Lyon family?

Will the family of Princess Mary attend the funeral?
They have the same relation to the Queen as the Gloucester or Kent families but they never seem to be included.

I would assume that the present Earl of Harewood will be there. Not sure about the rest of the family.

Yes I'd assume Lord Harewood wood will be there along with members of the Bowes-Lyon Family!

Will it be then that the gun carriage is drawn by Royal Marines? I expected this already yesterday but then that was not the funeral itself.

Do you think that the Middletons, the Tindalls, the Mapelli Mozzis and Mrs. Brooksbank (Eugenies mother-in-law) are also invited to attend the funeral?

I suspect they will be invited.

Seraphim Toll at the Riddarholmen Church
Queen Elizabeth II was appointed a member of the Royal The Order of the Seraphim by King Gustaf VI Adolf on 26 May 1953. The Queen was awarded the chain of the Order of the Seraphim by H.M. According to tradition, Riddarholmen Church's bell will toll at 12.00–13.00 on the day of the funeral. The Queen's Seraphim arms will be carried in a procession from the Royal Palace to the Riddarholmen Church at 11.45.
Flags at half-mast on the day of the funeral
As an added honor, H.M. The King has decided that flags will flow at half-mast at the royal palaces during the day of the funeral.
H.M. Drottning Elizabeth II hedras med serafimerringning och flaggning på halv stång _ Kungahuset

The numbers and the requests on how to travel are for practical reasons, nobody is trying to dictate as such . Can you imagine the number of cars all coming in different directions trying to get to the abbey if everybody made their own way.

I’m actually quite shocked that Emanuele Filiberto is going. I didn’t think he had any close relationship with the BRF to go. Even more shocking that the Aosta branch who are much more closely related to BRF aren’t going or haven’t been invited. I understand the former Yugoslavian royals going because of the ever still close ties.

I wonder if members of the Welfen family of Hanover will attend since they are related
It’s possible, Ernst August went for QEQM’s funeral and he did say he talks to Charles so he could go unless he’s alright to. Or his sons could go as they are close to some members of the BRF.

Alois and Sophie will represent Lichtenstein and attend the funeral.
I really wondered if the princely family would even attend.

Maybe the present Earl will go, but the other family members I don’t think so.

Brief(superficial) observations of the Westminster Hall ceremony:

Princess Beatrice's hair is reaching her waist again and is quite simply gorgeous. She could do commercials:lol:

The Wessex children are beautiful, both of them. I hardly recognized James.

Meghan made the most beautiful, elegant curtsey of ALL the Royal women imho, which shocked me. Has she been practicing out in California?:whistling:

The Royal men looked great. What were the badges/medals being worn by Edoardo and Mike(Tindall)

Psalm 139 being sung/chanted by the combined choirs of the Chapel Royal and Westminster Abbey took my breath away. I read that the Psalm was personally chosen by HMQ.

Hauntingly beautiful.

When a President of Greece, Roumania, Serbia, Bulgaria , Portugal, Italy who attend HM Queen Elisabeth Funerals , will they have a seat before their non reigning Houses ??

Maybe it's to keep the numbers down. Mary didn't know the Queen as well as some older and less-high ranking people who are likely quite anxious to go.

But, on the other hand, she was born a citizen of Australia, a country where the late Queen was Head of State.

I suppose Denmark is simply sticking to the 2-person rule.
