Congratulations on his 19th birthday to the busiest royal heir, after his cousin Leonor of Spain, and hope this is the start of another great year for him.
Trying to identify the exact family relationship between these two 'cousins'. Quite far cousins I assume...

5th cousins with Queen Victoria and Prince Albert as shared ancestors:
Leonor - Felipe - Juan Carlos - Juan - Victoria Eugenie - Beatrice - Victoria
Leonor - Felipe - Sophia - Paul - Sophia - Victoria - Victoria
Christian - Frederik X - Margrethe - Ingrid - Margaret - Arthur - Victoria

5th cousins with King Christian IX and Queen Louise as shared ancestors:
Leonor - Felipe - Sophia - Paul - Constantine I - George I - Christian IX
Christian - Frederik X - Margrethe - Frederik IX - Christian X - Frederik VIII - Christian IX

So, they share two sets of great-great-great-great-grandparents.

You can go also via Emperor Wilhelm I

Wilhelm I. - Luise - Viktoria - Gustav VI. Adolf - Ingrid - Margrethe - Frederik - Christian

Wilhelm I. - Friedrich III. - Sophie - Paul I. - Sofia - Felipe VI. - Leonor

Wilhelm I. - Friedrich III. - Wilhelm II. - Viktoria Luise - Friederike - Sofia - Felipe VI. - Leonor

Beautiful colors.

And his hair is short. My wish has come true, snip snip. :giggle:

True! I was looking for the closest relationship; and through Wilhelm I they are 5th cousins once removed. There is also a line between Leonor and Queen Victoria that includes an additional generation - so another, 5th cousins once removed variation.

I beg to disagree, but I am naturally biased towards long hair.
It looks good on some guys, but I always thought he looked kind of silly. It seemed like a very typical high-school thing.
