If The Princess Royal wants to do this then fair play to her. On the other hand it would have been grand to see her all dressed up like the previous Princess Royal in 1953.

What an honour!
But I expected her to be mounted on this day, tbh.

(She should wear this shirt on which is printed Don't mess with the Princess ) (Of course this is a joke, please relax.)

Not really. She has been Gold-Stick-in-Waiting since 1998 and has fulfilled this role regularly for the Late Queen.

It goes along with being the Colonel of the Blues and Royals.

In other words she is fulfilling the role that goes along with the honorary position she was given by the late Queen.

She will be in uniform to carry out this role - as she always is when serving as Gold-Stick-in-Waiting.

As long as the pertinent parts of the Banquet the night before the Coronation are televised we may yet see her bringing out the super bling, because if there were any time to do so, this is it.

That's so cool. It really fits HM The King's idea of himself as "Defender of Faith" rather than "Defender of the Faith."
But he isn´t! This title, if you will, goes only with his role as wordly head of the Church of England and no other faith. If he says he would be, he would be selfstyled "Defdender of faiths"!

Reports that Andrew Parker Bowles will be at the coronation.

I find this the most odd. She had an extra-marital affair on him, then invites him to her holy crowning alongside the man she cheated on him with.

Very strange.
Well, I guess that´s what people call "grown up behaviour"... Andrew, who even attended the late Queen´s coronation as an 13 year old page (don´t know what peer it was) always remained a great friend of the RF, especially of the Princess Royal.

London's Eye even has a Coronation Hub ;)

I actually think this will be a very moving moment, they have been very close over the years, and she has been a great supporter of her mother and will be of her brother.

I wonder if William will also be on horseback.

I read somewhere that the princess royal, duke of Edinburgh and prince of Wales were participating in the rehearsals, so I wonder whether that means that all of them will be on horseback.

That would not surprise me.

OMG! Another mess, in my opinion... So no shimmering gown with a train...

How is it a mess for the Gold-Stick-In-Waiting to wear the appropriate uniform rather than a 'shimmering gown with a train'?

Have you heard of Gold Leaf? I have seen it in a Catholic cathedral. Have you seen it being applied?

How very interesting. It looks like they are using the same little gold leaf books that I bought to turn papier mache reindeer into shiny Christmas decorations. It was very effective and the shine has lasted for years on the reindeer. Easy to use on a few little reindeer but I imagine it is a very tedious and time consuming process when being used on that scale.

It looks like healthy mix of old aristocracy, new peers, military guys and archbishops.
And I am glad that Francis Dymoke will have a role.

Luckily he doesn't need to duel to defend their majesties' right to the throne like his ancestors did.

Invitation to coronation: German relatives come to Charles III in London

The German nobility is getting ready for the coronation of Charles III on May 6 in London. These relatives have received invitations.

London – During his visits to Berlin and Hamburg, King Charles III (74) emphasized his love for Germany and referred to his German roots. Now everyone is eagerly waiting to see which celebrities from the country of his fathers have invited Charles to the historic event of the coronation in London. The British royal family is closely related to the House of Baden through Charles' paternal grandmother. She and the grandmother of Bernhard of Baden, Prince and Margrave of Baden, Duke of Zähringen (52), were sisters.

Representatives of the House of Baden were already invited to the coronations of the Queen and King George V
The heads of the houses of Baden and Hohenlohe-Langenburg have received invitations to take a seat in Westminster Abbey. From Salem in the Lake Constance district, Bernhard von Baden will probably take part in the celebrations together with his wife Stephanie Anne Kaul (56), as a spokesman for the house announced. "Our family can now look back on a long tradition of participating in coronation celebrations," says von Baden, who has been at the helm of the house as head since 2022. Representatives of the House of Baden were already present at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022) and the coronation of King George V (70, † 1936) and Queen Mary (85, † 1953).

The King Simeon and Queen Margarita of Bulgaria attend the Coronation in London.
The Royal House of Bulgaria confirmed this information to me via email.

That should be interesting. They have never been seen at an international royal event since ascending the throne in 2016.

Indeed. However he attended several big Events as Crown Prince for example the dutch Inaugurations in 1980 and 2013. But for the Queen it is the first big Event among other royals, but then they are married only since 4 years.

Details of those involved in the processions carrying and presenting the Regalia have been announced.

It was nice to see the press release subtly allude - without being overly emphatic - to the inclusion of Britons and Realm citizens of different genders, races, socioeconomic classes, and religions. However, I wish it had explained the history and significance of the various ceremonial roles in the way it did for the role of King or Queen's Champion.
