Birth of Princess Alexandra and Nicolas Bagory first child: Victoire

OK, this is probably just a hypothetical question: How do we know, what the surname of Victoire (congratulations to the parents) really is?

If they have in Luxembourg laws about family and surnames like in Germany, everything would be possible... And Victoire was born in France? Then she should have been registered there - under the laws of the French Republic, which I do not know too. But I mean to remember from the Monaco threads, that in the French Republic Victoire's surname could be very well Luxembourg or Nassau or whatever, but not necessarily the surname of her father.

And, as the user Somebody pointed out, the toddler is in the line for the Throne...

Based on the Nassau Family Pact which specifies that children of female members of the grand ducal family carry their father's surname.

FYI: Luxembourg is not a surname. The family's surname is 'de Nassau' - but as pointed out above cannot be passed on in female line (unless the female member is the reigning grand duchess or heir apparent).

Victoire Bagory is 9th and the first non-royal in Luxembourg's line of succession.

The top-10 is currently fully occupied by Henri's descendants:

It is possible Victoire is the first untitled person in line to the throne (assuming the marriage of Princess Charlotte and Mark Cunningham was not approved by Grand Duke Jean) but she is not the first non-royal, since the children of Princess Marie-Astrid are almost certainly in line to the throne. This can be inferred from the transitional provision in the 2012 revision of the family statute of 1907 (which I can explain if anyone is interested).

Either when she is baptized, or during the GD family's annual summer holiday photos...whichever happens first.

I very much doubt that the very private Princess Alexandra will release any formal photos of her infant like her brothers did.

-Louis' children were the first grandchildren
-Felix's (well at least Amelia) were at the time the next in line until Gui and Steph had their own children
-Gui and Stephanie's children are direct heirs thus pictures were a given

Alex is the first of Henri's children to have their own children who aren't the first or aren't constitutionally important at the time.

I would imagine that Alexandra and her husband are very private people, they very much fly under the radar.
I’m not surprised that they haven’t released any photos. Perhaps we’ll get a glimpse of the new arrival at special events for Henri if he has an anniversary or maybe even from the familiy’s summer vacation.

We got pics from little Balthazar quiet soon after his birth. And he is neither the first grandchild but constitutionally important as he his on place 7 in the line of succession.

The grand ducal family has not announced any information about the christening.
It is not known whether Victoire was ever baptized. But it's likely so.

We don't even know if Victoires cousin, Prince Balthazar, is already baptized!

It looks like that the GDL has changed their procedures about announcing baptisms of the grandchildren. It surprises me because Luxembourg and the GD family is a very religious catholic country. All family members, as IRRC are the same, and Alexandra's husband is working for a catholic institution.
The only reason I guess is that they don't want to be as public as before, and maybe the family members don't want to be public about their children's baptisms. But I don't believe that none of them had their children baptised, just did it secretly without making a big event. It is still strange IMO

It is strange indeed - because all the other baptisms were announced and we even had pictures. And I agree that in such a religious family it is very unlikely that the newest additions won't be baptized at all.

Yes, there were photos of all the baptisms of the other grandchildren of the grand dukes. But they did not release photos of the baptisms of Victoire and Balthazar.
But we also do not yet know if they have been baptized yet.

But then little Balthazar was born in January and his sister Amalia was christened very soon. Even if they took a bit longer, the announcement about making Guillaume Lieutnant/Regent was only in June.
