The usual, so to speak. Economic interests and environment protection.

Here's what the Palace released prior to the visit:

His Majesty the King is making an official visit to the Republic of Namibia to support Belgian operators active in the field of renewable energies, port development, sustainable maritime transport and the transfer of skills in these areas. He is accompanied by the Minister of Energy, Mrs Tinne Van der Straeten.Like the official visit to Oman in 2022, this royal visit illustrates the desire of Belgium and Namibia to work together on a sustainable energy transition. The King will be received in Windhoek by the President of Namibia, His Excellency Nangolo Mbumba. He will also visit a social project aimed at combating extreme poverty in Kilimanjaro, on the outskirts of the capital. The Namibian NGO Hope Initiative Southern Africa (HISA (link is external)) focuses in this district on the socio-economic empowerment of residents, food security, access to medical care, education, hygiene and sanitation. In Walvis Bay, the King visits projects in full development for the production of renewable energies – in particular green hydrogen – and sustainable maritime transport. These projects are the result of Belgian-Namibian collaborations bringing together the public and private sectors, as well as economic and development operators.
