Stones instead of pearls
Since Crown Princess Victoria wore one of her necklaces four years ago, the jewelry of Märta Larsson has been popular. The designer relies on handpicked stones from all over the world.
Four years ago, there was her "Victoria Moment". Suddenly, Märta Larsson's name was in many newspapers and magazines, especially in her home country Sweden. Her career, which had only lasted a few months then, then picked up so much speed that the jewelry designer, who was still pregnant at the time, barely followed the production of new necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings.
Meanwhile, Märta Larsson's son Äsom is three and a half years old. The demand for her jewelry has continued to grow, but now she gets along so well that she even had the time to create a collection of silk towels and kimonos. They are printed with stones, which Larsson used for her jewelry. Her first prêt-à-porter collection was presented at the Tuileries showroom in March at Paris Fashion Week.
The momentous "Victoria moment" - of course it had to do with the Swedish Crown Princess. Victoria came to official visit to Germany four years ago. First stop was Hamburg. There, according to tradition, she was welcomed by the city mayor, Olaf Scholz, to the top of the staircase in the Town hall, even though the Crown Princess was traveling on crutches after a ski accident. It was a gnawing for the press, which shone with headlines such as "Royal despite crutches!" And "delight with crutches".
Special mention was always the "chain in XL", which the future Swedish queen wore around her neck: black tourmaline, as big as walnuts. "That was my Victoria moment," says Märta Larsson.
