World Childhood Foundation, Bukowskis, and Galleri GKM are delighted to present Childhood 25 Years, a charity auction using art as a tool in the fight for children's right to a safe upbringing.
For 25 years, the World Childhood Foundation has worked to ensure every child's right to a secure childhood, free from sexual abuse. To mark this anniversary, Galleri GKM is donating 25 artworks to be auctioned, with all proceeds going towards supporting Childhood's ongoing work.
Welcome to bid on your favourite works in this auction and support Childhood's efforts to prevent sexual abuse of children.

Madeleine attends alone World Childhood Foundation's gala dinner on November 14 in New York. Queen Silvia attends a medal ceremony of Prince Eugen Medal at the Royal Palace.

Does this mean that that Madeleine is now about to step forward to take over the Queen's role as honorary chairperson?
Childhood's communications manager Charles Mingo Bennström:
- Princess Madeleine attends the Childhood Gala in the USA this year without the Queen. This has been planned for a long time and it is natural that they divide missions and trips for Childhood between them. Childhood turns 25, many want to highlight the Queen's act and the impact it has had on children, both in Sweden and internationally. This has already meant some travel, not least to New York in September. The Princess and the Queen continue to work side by side to protect children from sexual abuse.
Clear message, then: No change of thrones in Childhood. At least not yet.

Madeleine in Gothenburg last Tuesday:
@stenafastigheter and @volvocarse celebrated Childhood 25 years on Tuesday, in the presence of R.H. Princess Madeleine, by gathering representatives of Gothenburg's business life at @worldofvolvo. The aim was to provide insight into Childhood's work and highlight how joint investments in innovations, methods and collaborations can lead to system changes that protect children against sexual abuse, both in Sweden and internationally.

Here are some additional photos of yesterday's event:

World Childhood Foundation has moved to a new office in Stockholm:
"Last week we finally had the opportunity to gather our partners in our new office. Together we work to protect children. Each meeting strengthens us in reaching our common goal of a world where no child is sexually abused."

The National Property Board leases a historic premises to the World Childhood Foundation. The rental applies to 213 square meters in a listed palace.
The property (Ladugårdsbron 14) known as the Foreign Minister's Hotel was built in the 17th century and between 1800 and 1960s was the official residence for Sweden's foreign ministers. In recent years, the premises have been Svenska Handelsbanken's representative floor and office. The block also houses the Royal Academy of Music. The property owner, the National Property Board, renovated the premises in preparation for occupancy in October 2024.

Madeleine has about 500 meters walk from her apartment to the new office.

The Swedish Embassy published at its Facebook
"Together with @worldchildhoodfoundation, the King and Queen are visiting São Paulo this week. On Monday, they attended, among other events, the signing of a letter of intent for the opening of the country's first “Children's Home” (Childhood House).
In a “Children's Home”, children who have been sexually abused receive support and protection under one roof. A multidisciplinary team of doctors, judges, psychologists, social workers and many others work together for the well-being and interests of the children.
The “Children's Home” model has been disseminated by Childhood over the past 20 years in Sweden, Germany, Moldova, Poland, Ukraine – and now, soon, also in Brazil.
In São Paulo, the Royal Couple also visited a preschool that operates according to a specific model to create safe and inspiring environments for children.
The Royal Couple's visit was also accompanied by Ambassador Karin Wallensteen.

While in Brazil, Queen Silvia and King Carl Gustaf attended The Childhood Brasil 25th Anniversary Dinner in support of the protection of children and adolescents.

Queen Silvia gave a speech of thanks and called for the fight for safe, protected and violence-free childhood and adolescence to continue to be a priority for all of us.
“I sincerely thank all the Childhood Brasil advisors for dedicating their time, resources and ideas to the cause. Together, we have built a solid and effective support network. We need to keep this flame burning, remembering that every gesture of support, every initiative and every voice raised makes a difference. I would especially like to thank Rosana Camargo, who led the organization in Brazil for these 25 years and embraced this cause with me from the beginning, fighting tirelessly to protect children and adolescents. You were the best ally I could have on this journey. You are strong, courageous, and played a very important role in promoting significant and lasting changes, in favor of a safe, protected, possible, dignified and violence-free childhood and adolescence. You are certainly leaving a legacy for Brazil. I thank you, we thank you, and all children thank you.”
