In The Hague, the Queen Beatrix, Prince Willem-Alexander, Princess Maxima, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands attended the gala given at the 50th anniversary of Dutch Dans Theater.

Circustheater in Scheveningen. The first copy of the jubileebook Storm
in the media is presented to the royals.. The book was made by Tony
van der Meulen.
Queen & Crown prince couple attended the 5th Royal concert at the Stadstheater in Zoetermeer.
The concert is to show the musical solidarity between Holland and the Dutch Antills.
HM The Queen,accompanied by TRH The Prince of Orange,Princess Máxima and Prof.mr.Pieter van Vollenhoven,
received the participants of the annual ambassadors conference.
The conference is hosted by the Foreign Office and the participants are all Dutch Ambassadors,
Permanent Representatives at International Institutions and Consuls-General.

I was cycling in the paleisstraat yesterday and 8 policemen on motors almost drove over me, so I gathered that the queen must be in the palace (and she WAS).

the start of the 100 year jubilee of the Royal Tropical Institute ( KIT)
in Amsterdam. The KIT is a knowledge and expertise institute in
international and intercultural cooperation.
I'm not usually on this part of the forums, but as an ardent fan of Andre Rieu and his Orchestra I thought you might like to see the concert he performed for HM Queen Beatrix this week:
I bet they love to travel by train again for such a distance,
they always used to go to Lech by train...way back.
Luckily the Royal train was all spic and span it just had to be fetched from the exhibition in Utrecht
HM had opened on wednesday.Little did we know how soon the RF would be in need of it.
They most likely have to travel back by train too as europes airspace might be closed for the next 48 hours due to the ash clouds
15 hours is quite a journey but I think its worth it. They royals did look a bit odd sticking their heads out of the train window :loll:

Queen Beatrix unveiled a monument which is a sculpture of a box
full of balloons symbolizing vulnerability, festivities and mourning.
Queen Beatrix, Princess Margriet and Pieter van Vollenhoven attended
the commemoration service at the Canadian militairy cemetary in
Groesbeek, May 3, 2010. It's been a special ceremony to honour
Canadians who fought and died to liberate the Netherlands 65 years
ago.
