If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Is that his own choice, or is he not allowed by the one in power?

Lets hope we will get pics and coverage from it.

I doubt it ,the Spanish RF are as about as low key as it gets and are very private regarding family events.

The Congress has mounted the podium of the hemicycle in which the Princess of Asturias, Leonor de Borbon, swears the Constitution next October 31, just the day in which she will reach the age of majority. As advanced to Europa Press by parliamentary sources, the appearance of the hemicycle will be similar to that of the acts of swearing in of the Magna Carta of the now head of state, which took place on January 30, 1986, also coinciding with his eighteenth birthday, and of his proclamation as Felipe VI, on June 19, 2014.

I was hoping to see personal photos to get a glimpse of who the Princess really is. These are all press photos that have never been released before.

It would have been nice to see pics of the family from a private family vacation or to see the Princess engaging in one of her hobbies.

We may still get an official photo on October 31st to mark the 18th Birthday.

They probably wanted to be consistent with their decisions; if they have not published those photos while she was a minor, they are not going to do it because she turns 18. It is also a way to continue protecting Sofía when she is a minor.

Yes, they should release new photos on October 31st. I so wanted a photo with a tiara. :flowers:

I have a feeling it will be the Princess in her military uniform and we will have to wait for a future State event for a tiara photo.

The gallery includes personal photos in my opinion.

I'm hoping for both, uniform and tiara, the duality of a modern female heir. However, seeing as Leonor is following in her father's footsteps to a T, I expect her in tiara soon at state visits.

Me too! We all are hoping!! ;););):flowers::flowers:

Zarzuela continues with the plans and calls a party at the El Pardo Palace on October 31 to privately celebrate Leonor's swearing in of the Constitution on her 18th birthday.

Vanitatis says that the presence of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, Infanta Elena and Infanta Cristina has been confirmed.
Some of the children of Infanta Elena and Infanta Cristina may not be present due to their personal agendas, but the presence of Miguel and Irene Urdangarín is taken for granted. We still don't know about the other cousins.

Some members of the Greek Royal Family are also expected to be present.
And friends of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were also invited.

Who did Vanitatis get official confirmation from?

I don't think her and Sofia being minors have anything to do with the decision. We have seen photos of the girls their entire lives. It seems just to be just the royal house's preference to NOT release such photos.

Every photo of the 20 comes from an event that has been covered by photographers from casareal and photos of those events have been published on their website before.
I dont see any personal or private photos among them, all of them are from events that were published before.

The photo where she is hugging the King while on vacation in Mallorca doesn’t look like an official event.

Events at the Royal Palace

Already in the Armory Courtyard, the Royal Guard will honor the heir to the throne. - The Royal Family will go directly to the Hall of Carlos III.

- The event will begin with an intervention by the acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, after which it will be Felipe VI who will impose the decoration on his daughter, in the presence of the Government and the powers of the State.

I am not sure it is the same event. It looked like the picture was taken in the evening against a wall or in an alley. It was Leonor hugging the King.
It's Leonor who is taking the picture of the King with Sofía.:flowers: It was taken during their usual summer photosession at Mallorca.

If understand the article well it is so the absence of Juan Carlos is less embarrassing for him? If so, that is rather gracious of the Queen.

Yes, after all she is still Juan Carlos' Consort. A crying shame that they won't be there. I'm livid

Big shame Queen Sofia wont be there, JC not being there shouldn't stop her being there IMO.

Indeed a shame that they wioll not be present. they are also Leonor's godparents. Will they be present at the Palace?

Sofía has not attended state events (National Day, opening of Parliament, state visits) since Felipe's proclamation, so in that sense her absence is not surprising. She could be among the guests as a grandmother, but with that Juan Carlos's protests would return, and the politicians do not want him there (especially at this time when the formation of a government is being negotiated).

It is unfortunate that once again the Borbones Grecia are not knowing how to behave up to the circumstances, and are removing the focus from who is important, Leonor. The maternal grandparents, who are the ones who have really always been by Leonor's side, will not be able to be there either, and they do not have any responsibility.

These events are constitutional and institutional, and everything must be agreed between the King's House and the Congress and the Government. Invitations to the event in Congress are sent by its president and she will be the only person to give a speech at the event. The delivery of the Order of Carlos III is approved by the government, and the acting president of the government will speak at the Royal Palace. King Felipe will only speak at the official lunch.

Leonor's swearing-in is going to take place on the day of her 18th birthday, almost by miracle and in an uncertain political situation, and that has led to institutional events following a strict script, and the celebration and family affairs remain in an area more private and away from politicians.
