The Prince of Walas as Founder and President of The Earthshot Prize paid a visit in London today, March 8, "to celebrate the scaling of Earthshot Prize solutions following the launch of the Prize in 2020", he visited "The Kia Oval Cricket Ground with Earthshot Prize winner, Notpla, to hear about a new multi-million-pound contract with Levy UK + Ireland, part of Compass Group, to introduce Notpla's seaweed-based, natural food packaging to over 50 sporting and event venues":

This is commendable, sure, but it further reinforces my thoughts that Williams version of "duty" revolves around only things he cares about rather than giving himself to a variety of causes the British people might ask him to be involved in.

The Prince of Wales visited the 2023 Earthshot Prize Finalist ENSO, "a UK-based tyre startup developed specifically for electric vehicles" in Brentford today, October 1:

Do we have dates for the South Africa trip for William? I assume he will spend a few days in the country. I don't believe he has visited officially as a royal?

Having been twice to SA in the last 9months it is a beautiful country and Cape Town is a stunning city

It's always encouraging to me to hear William remark on Catherine's continuing recovery.
Charlotte's "Papa" bracelet for William is adorable. :)

I am a bit confused [as usual]. Will there be an awards ceremony or have the winners already been announced?

You can watch the awards ceremony via the video link I've shared yesterday, the same post contains lots of photos of the awards ceremony and the guests attending, see here or simply scroll up. :flowers:

Interesting observation. It indeed seems that William primarily focuses on his own initiatives and has limited availability for events related to other causes or official duties.

I view it differently, I see it that rather than spread himself to thin trying to support multiple causes, he focuses on a handful then tries to make a real difference

I agree with you! Also, due to Charles’ slimmed down vision of the monarchy, it is no longer the plan to have a gazillion cousins as HLM had as patrons. I would imagine as time goes on there will be fewer and fewer patronages and more focus on a few issues - this serves the purpose of truly helping others and using his platform for good AND it keeps him in the public eye which he needs “to be seen to be believed.” He does some typical royal duties like handing out awards but I don’t think the model is to be constant ribbon cutting.
