Lovely outfit and one everybody at any age can copy !

She is definitely using her common sense with her wardrobe and today is no exception. Her early maternity clothes are being recycled and that is a very good thing.

Actually, I don't understand the slightly condescending or disapproving tone of many posters when a royal woman repeats an item of clothing. There is an innate dishonesty in the cost breakdown of the total of her tour wardrobe.

She has a great smile. And seems to be enjoying the trip.

Denim jackets are really American, IMO and always look good in casual appearances. Her bag and shoe game is always strong.

Love her look today. Casual, but with a bit of polish. Love the huaraches.

I'm not a fan of the denim jacket, especially the length and cut of this one. I'm also not sure the cut of these trousers is the most flattering paired with a short, boxy jacket. If she were on her own time, I'd think this was all fine, but since she's not, a different jacket would have brought the look together better.

She looks nice. The jeans and denim jacket for the beach event was smart.

I’m trying to remember if we’ve seen the olive dress before. Another nice, comfortable dress. Very respectful of the mosque.

Good color for her ...and in a close up I saw how light and thin that veil is. It's almost like cheesecloth. Quite pretty.

She is very low key so far in this tour and what I really like about is that she is a normal person, she did not loose all her baby weight jet and shows that each person is different and she can look great even with some little extra kilos, not really much, but I think it is only noticeable at her waist.

I think they have some sort of dinner or reception tonight so we may see them more dressed up then.

It may take her awhile to lose the midsection, the muscles may never quite get back to how they were, she was quite big with Archie.

LaRae

The midsection is fine, but, although I've loved every outfit on the tour Meghan has worn so far, I'm afraid the love comes to a shuddering stop with the olive dress. I hate olive as a colour anyway and, maybe it's my eyes, but this seems to have a sort of golden sheen. And the belt in the middle just doesn't help either.

The olive dress looks like a potato sack. JMHO. I do , however, respect the fact that she isn’t pressuring herself into being model thin while still recovering from her pregnancy and while nursing.

The olive dress is fine for the engagement, except for the sheen, which I think makes the whole thing look a little cheap. Overall, it's not the most flattering cut, color or style, but it gets the job done. The scarf is pretty and I like the shoes.

I agree.
But perhaps it's worn so as not to offend the extremly religious?

(So far I find most of her clothing for the tour rather underwhelming).

I agree. It has waaaay too much fabric going on. Nice colour though.

I feel like some royal watchers are so used to other royal ladies coming out of maternity leave and looking perfectly thin after having their babies. Now we are seeing Meghan who is not the same body shape any more. She is more shapely and that will probably be her new normal. She may still have a few pounds to lose but is by no means overweight imo. She along with the public will not need to adjust to how her clothes will look on her from now on.

The duchess wears casual very well and it works but hoping to see something a little more smarter looking over the Tour.

The first outfit is fine, I especially like her hairstyle although I agree with Ista, that a less boxy cut for the jacket would be more flattering. I am also not a fan of women wearing their sunglasses in their cleavage unless it is at home, not a professional look.
The second outfit is way too voluminous for her. As is her hair.

I applaud her for recycling appropriate clothing and especially for wearing sensible shoes. I abhor the skinny, bony look on anyone. However, the Duchess is very petite and needs to dress simply and with that in mind in order to not look as though she is drowning in her look.

The first outfit is perfectly fine. Will never go out of style.

As for the olive dress, it's a pass. The color is brilliant on her, but she is too short to carry this particular one off. If it was mid calf length, it would fit her shape more.

The dresses are fine. She has a relaxed, casual style. The tailoring, however, is not good.

I wonder if she sees these tailoring/fit issues and doesn't care (which some might find admirable) or if she just doesn't see them.

Some women do like that baggy drag the ground look, I am not a fan. It's fine to be over your shoe but not past that unless you are talking evening gowns designed to work that way.

LaRae

I’m sure the long dress was purely to visit the mosque, so she gets a pass based on that alone. I’m not a fan of the shiny fabric though.

I read that the dress is made 100 percent from recycled plastic so that is probably why it's got the shiny thing going.

Day 2
Look 1: Casual in denim, appropriate for the beach, nothing special. I wear this exact look all the time when walking my dogs. Great to see all repeats.

Look 2: Brownish dress. I get what the idea was, but it’s just to much material for Meghan’s small frame, it totally swamps her. And it’s basically the colour of poop, shiny poop at that. I don’t like the dress at all. Love the flats and the hair.

So, day 1 a win, day 2 a fail for me.

Plastic clothes in South Africa?? Doesn’t that sweat awfully??

I didn't see any of those.

But I agree that it's great when anyone, including royals, repeat items of clothing. There is little reason not to. So, while special occasions merit new clothes, repeating clothes in general is great - although I understand royals are expected to repeat a lot less than 'average people'. So, I am glad that Meghan is able to reuse her early pregnancy clothes at this tour. I expect to see more 'Australia/New Zealand'-tour clothes these days.

I didn't see any of those.

I didn't either, but it's possible that there has been some commentary along those lines on Instagram or Twitter or blogs. I do think that sometimes members of the Royal Forums read criticisms on one of those and respond here as though someone here had also said those things.

It's always fun to see new and usually very expensive clothing from one of the royal ladies, but it's also very nice, in this case, to see some reusing so that the clothes aren't the focus and don't get in the way of the purpose of the tour.
