The textured fabric is really lovely, but I'm not a huge fan of the print. I suppose it's a nice enough dress overall, but I can't get very excited by it. It does seem a little summery for almost the middle of September.

The Duchess looks radiant today, the dress is nice itself but she have some many dimilar ones

I am not a fan of this look. The print is okay in May but looks out of place in September when you can see leaves turning in the background. I detest patch pockets or the hint of patch pockets at the bust line, probably because I don't need any help in that area. In this case, the flaps seem to be at odds with the fabric. Kate needs to stop with the girly looks. She just can't pull it off. She looks much better in tailored outfits. This would have been the perfect time for a nice tailored trouser suit.

It's a pretty dress, but no nicer than some of the floral dresses from the High Street that Kate has been wearing this summer.
I don't think it's worth the cost.

I am not a fan of Emilia Wickstead but most of the time Kate pulls it off this is not one of those times for me. The dress is more a pyjama fabric IMO not crazy about it

I am sorry another matronly floral dress. I am sure she has a dozen in her closet. The color is nice but the pattern makes me think curtains.

I was hoping for one of her great casual looks. This kind of event in the garden with kids could have called for a great casual day look. She wasnt escorting the queen after all.

What a real mistake, imo. This wallpaper like print which doesn’t flatter her skin tone is the wrong thing to wear for her inaugural nature garden event. The shirtwaist dress just didn’t seem to go with the event. She is such an attractive woman with such a warm manner, and to have this dress which seemed off putting to me was too bad. I am also not a fan of the orange tint to her hair

I think this was a good choice for the occasion. A garden event demands a floral dress unless you are getting hands on with the plants. I understand the comment about the matronly effect but Kate spent so much time kneeling down, talking to children, she wisely went for a longer length. I am not keen on the wedges, but the weather has been quite wet in the UK over the last few days so I imagine a sandal was out of the question. I find comments relating to does she need another dress a little ridiculous. I imagine quite a few here on this forum have a fair number of summer dresses which build up in our wardrobes. Kate, who is in a different stratosphere as a senior royal, is wealthy, constantly in the public eye with numerous public and private engagements. Get real!

The blouse is nice, but the trousers are awful and not doing anything positive for Catherine, who is super thin. Awful posture, as well.

I love today's look on the duchess. It is a perfect wide leg trouser. It is a fashion piece.

She looks perfect for this visit

I like the trousers and shirt, which surprises me a little since I don't always like the short, wide trousers. In this case I think they work really well.

I'm less sure that I like the red, print dress. It seems more like something CP Victoria would wear with the flutter sleeve.

I actually think Catherine looked great today. I like this outfit a lot.

While I love when a royal lady wears trousers, these wide and yet short legged trousers are not a good look on anyone.

I do love the top, its cute.

The pink dress is indeed the LK Bennet dress she wore to the polo match.

Not a huge fan of the dress, a little girly to me. But better then some of the matronly things she has worn lately so I will take it.

:previous:
Totally agree about those wide and yet short legged trousers. I hope they will make very rapid exit!!! Thankfully her blouse looked okay.

Quite surprisingly I liked her pink dress. Yes, it looks girly but it fits her well, and with those soft curls, makes her smh look younger and softer.

I had some reservations about the wide legged trousers from the two photos posted here, but when I saw the video footage and other photos on the charities thread, I thought she looked very together and the trousers worked well with the blouse. The blouse is the lovely piece and I’m sure it will serve her well. Like other comments here, I agree that the combination of wide legged and cropped trousers isn’t a good look, but Kate can carry it off, lucky lady.

This smart outfit appropriate for the visit and elegant, the Duchess looks very well

I like the polka dot blouse and the colour match to the navy culottes is spot on, but my inner juror is still out on the culottes themself. However, I am really happy she is starting to take a few more risks with her wardrobe.

Nice color but I don't like those pockets.

She looks nice... just another blue coat dress.

Kate has worn this dress / coatdress previously. I am not a fan of the look today, but I liked it when she wore it previously. I am concluding that I liked the two previous wearings actually because I liked her hair and hair/hat combo on those occasions.

ETA:
Actually she's worn it three times previously.
