No one here has said her skirts are always too short.

I laugh, and I laugh. Catherine's fashion threads are sooooo predictable.

It's good for a giggle, but you can name the same people, over and over, who don't like anything she wears lol

Personally I like about 90 percent of what Kate wears. I do question, now and then, why she's wearing a dress/heels in certain settings.

You are correct. But there are always people who say her skirts are too short when they are above the knee/she bends over.

At least in the last couple of years.

Shortest ever in my memory was this from April 2013: http://cache3.asset-cache.net/gc/16...OrPp2aKkDGDZ6mj6pDsWMf7EbSudm4lNjyj4bY+UpDg==

I also remember a neon green coat dress that was fairly short? But I just looked on Getty and could not find it. Anyone else have nominations?

Its not a matter of mini skirts, but she never weighs her skirts down and she has plenty of close calls. And yes, when she is bending down to kids and such, a knee length would be more appropriate then some of her choices.

Some of her less than lengthy looks

Just to name a few. Nothing wrong with a shorter skirt. And some were quite nice. But there are times when they aren't functionally a good choice, like kid events or windy days when they aren't weighted.

Is there an emoji for flogging a dead horse lol

Every one of these examples but one has opaque(ish) black tights which in my book allows for shorter skirts :)

The thing here, if it's because it's a kid event (how so?), is that the only kid that (oh the horror) might see a bit of leg is her own kid and he for sure must have seen her legs before!

I see why some don't think a dress might be comfortable, and we all have different lines in the sand for what is "too short". But to me, this blue dress is not. Where it reached when she bent or sat was alright. It would not have been alright if that was the length when standing, because then it would have been too short when sitting. But this way, I think it was within the right bounds. And I dont think Kate or KP or anyone had any trouble with it since the picture of her sitting in the helicopter (when the skirt slid up a smidge) was used on their own instagram.

Graspinp and straws lol. But it's all par for the course

It is par for the course. It's as predictable as a certain someone coming on this and the other Cambridge threads and critiquing everyone and anyone who dares to criticise the couple in any way.

i've always liked that dress and that jacket, so i am glad she recycled them :)

however, she was kind of brave using a skirt when she knew she had to bend over to take care of george, with cameras all around her. i would have opted for trousers myself!

I think that Kate should stop wearing baggy clothes like this, as they don't flatter her now she has lost so much weight. This blue dress looked much better when in 2012 imo. I also don't think that the animal print headband had something to do with the whole outfit.

I agree with you 100 percent on this. Same with the yellow dress at the tennis. It simply emphasis the thinness.

I think pants and tennis shoes would have been better, but she looks great!

Oh I think she looked pretty silly with her slip dress and heels but there was certainly nothing immodest about her ensemble merely inappropriate. She would have looked great in smart linen pants and an elegant but casual top, flat shoes and a ponytail.

I think she looked nice nothing over done and lady like. The Queen wouldn't have worn pants. I think people have seen thigh before I would hope no one died of shock.

I don't think Kate's outfit was inappropriate. It's a dress with a blazer...hardly scandalous. Her outfit was no different than what some of the other women were wearing.

As for pants, Kate usually only wears them during sporting or outdoorsy events. Plus since she is the Patron of the Air Cadets, she may have felt pants were a little too casual (and a dress was more fitting) when meeting the cadets.

Indeed Soapstar..she doesn't look out of a place wearing this dress.

If she'd worn linen, someone would have said she looked messy due to the wrinkles. Anyway, Kate only wears pants at certain types of outdoor/sporty events.

I thought she looked nice in her heels and dress. She didn't look silly or inappropriate to me.

William isn't super casual either. He isn't in jeans with his sleeves rolled up. He is in a jacket with dress pants. They are there in an official capacity not attending as private citizens. George was the only one that got in a fighter jet. They go up and down airplane steps and get in/out of helicopters in dresses/heels and suits all the time. Kate walked down airplane steps in a gale in NZ holding a squirmy 9 month old George.

I like the dress, lovely summer outfit. But it is expensive for what it is.

I suspect we will see it again soon on a high profile visit or tour to stop any criticism of the cost, it does seem a bit OTT for a visit to watch tennis.

Catherine always repeats every outfit, multiple times. But there has to be a first outing, and it's a lovely dress for the tennis.

I agree. It actually looks like something she may have originally purchased for the India tour and did not wear. It is a lovely summer dress

Beautiful dress. McQueen is rarely a fail.

I do see her sporting a lot of expensive new dresses lately. Which I would do too, but I wonder if it's a smart choice to do that.

How much did people spend on outfits for watching horses at Ascot? She is in the center of the Royal box for one of Britain's most high profile sporting events which is being watched by millions. What did Sophie or Camilla's outfits to Wimbledon cost? It's only Kate that gets a price tag. William's tie could cost £200 but that is never reported.
