King Felipe participates in the tribute of the Palma nautical club to the veteran skipper of the 'Aifos'

The Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP) has paid tribute this Friday to Admiral Jaime Rodríguez Toubes, skipper of the 'Aifos', the Navy boat with which Felipe VI competes in the Copa del Rey Mapfre sailing competition, who also participated in the event before embarking on the penultimate day of the competition. Rodríguez Toubes is considered the nautical mentor of Don Felipe, since he has been sharing regattas with him on Navy boats since the then prince made his debut at the age of 16 in the Cup held in 1984 on the Sirius III.

Oh dear they still had to squeeze the family dinner in. Those photos look a bit staged with the dutiful granddaughters pushing the wheelchairs... Leonors face says it all.
Sorry to see Irenes health decline so rapidly, she is younger than her sister Sofia.

Leonor would probably prefer to be with her friends than with a group of older people... but the press that travels to Mallorca for the Copa del Rey (who enjoy a week of almost paid vacation with yacht rides and parties) was starting to get desperate and impertinent because there was no family photo in Mallorca and they leave once the regatta is over.

Sure she'd prefer to be with her friends. I found the pictures a bit much, nothing wrong with pushing a wheelchair but I am certain the girls did not help the ladies in/out of the car, there will be staffers within the security of the RF who take care of this, same as the helpful guy who always looks after JC when he is out and about. But then they have to be the ones once the cameras are there?

It's about taking a family photo, not a photo with bodyguards or service personnel in the middle, whose faces have to be pixelated... Juan Carlos refuses to use a wheelchair in public, which is why he always leans on someone, but in family photos (like at the wedding of the mayor of Madrid), he leaned on his daughters for the photo.

The Royal Family of Spain is very helpfull for members sitting in wheelchairs such as Princess Maria Mercedes, Infanta Pilar, her blind Sister Margarita and now Princess Tatania .
Kings Juan Carlos and Harald dont' want to see them on wheelchairs !

I get your point, but it still looks forced. Tatianas husband Dr. Fruchaud is around too.
Off topic but the aide who looks after Juan Carlos is not a family member but not pixelated either.

I don't understand why it "looks forced"; last year at the same dinner in the same place, Letizia was helping Irene, Sofia was helping her grandmother, and Leonor was helping Tatiana. It's normal in a family on a family outing.

Sofia Sr. clearly loves this part, Mallorca is kind of her kingdom, and kudos to her, what 86 year old woman choses to run around in this heat to please public opinion and the press. The other ladies have to follow suit, no chance.

Infanta Elena is on vacation in Funchal (Madeira), in Portugal, and visited the Madeira Theme Park.

I have no idea how reliable these Spanish papers are, but they claim that the King and Queen of Spain spent some days of vacation in Greece, as guests of the Dutch King and Queen.

It is rarely known exactly where the King and Queen of Spain spend their private holidays, which are usually outside of Spain. Yes, there are those who say that this time they went to Greece and that they were with the King and Queen of the Netherlands at their house in Greece and that even Queen Sofia spent a few days with them and Leonor and Sofia too.

If I understand this article correctly, Queen Letizia was also in Madeira, staying at a farm with a group of friends. Supposedly she arrived on August 9th.
