Nigerian princess and burlesque star to host Valentine’s Day bash • The Brooklyn Paper
She’s a burlesque star and a Nigerian princess!
Princess Pat — a.k.a. musician and burlesque performer Patience Mukoro — will bear (almost) all in name of love and harmony in Sideshows by the Seashore’s second annual Valentine’s Day For Lovers and Losers party on Feb. 14 in Coney Island.

Mukoro, a Lagos native who was born into a royal family but left her homeland for the People’s Playground in the mid-1990s, said the Adam and Eve-themed bash featuring music, magic and dance was designed for longtime couples and lonely singles alike.

Notable and popular African Royals

Any links to pictures or articles of royals in southern and western African can be posted here. I don't really hear much about them if they are around.

It may be worth your time searching the various sub forums to determine what threads already exist before possibly doubling up.

Through the below link can be found information on various African royal families

Where Are The African Royals??

Currently it is only in Africa were you can find the only surviving absolute Monarchy in the World and yet you chose to ignore about them. King Mswati III. Lesotho has King Letsi III and about 11 well non non reigning Monarchs...

There are threads dedicated to African royals. There's little day to day information available on some royal families. Perhaps you can help supply info.:flowers:

I am interested in this as well. Have you ever heard of Marquetta Goodwin, the Chieftess of the Gullah and GeeChee nation. They call her Queen Quet. On the Gullah nations website they say she acts as a ceremonial head of state. The Gullah People have their main base if the coast of SC, in the USA.

Also there is an African Princess or 2 that reside hear in the states.

Kingdom of Barotseland (Zambia)

On 18 May 1964, Litunga Mwanawina III, King of Barotseland and Kenneth Kaunda Prime Minister of Northern Rhodesia signed the "Barotseland Agreement 1964" which established Barotseland's position within Zambia in place of the earlier agreement between Barotseland and the British Government.

The agreement was based on a long history of close social, economic and political interactions. The Barotseland Agreement granted Barotse authorities and people specified limited local self-governance rights and rights to be consulted on specified matters, including over land, natural resources and local government.

With their brightly coloured robes, ornate thrones and legions of flunkeys attending every whim, they seem every bit the archetypal African kings.
Nigeria's traditional Monarchs may have been stripped of their powers half a century ago, but they appear to have lost little of their regal pomp and splendour as this fascinating series of portraits shows.
Photographer George Osodi toured the west African country extensively for a series of photographs entitled 'Kings of Nigeria' which is due to be exhibited at London's Bermondsey Project in October.

Fairytale wedding as Loughgall girl marries son of King of Lagos - Local - Portadown Times

Published on 16/08/2013 11:31 Loughgall Presbyterian Church played host to a royal wedding yesterday (Thursday) as the Crown Prince of Lagos tied the knot with his Loughgall bride. Kirsty Crooks (27), from Loughgall, was the envy of many a young girl, when she became a princess after exchanging wedding vows with Prince Mustapha Oniru of Lagos in Nigeria.

The regal ceremony in the tiny village was attended by royalty from the African continent who witnessed the Prince’s marriage to the apple of his eye from the Orchard county. The Prince’s father HRM Oba (King) Idowu Abiodun Oniru and Queen Olori Arike Oniru attended the service in Loughgall Presbyterian Church which was conducted by Rev Philip McKelvey. While Prince Mustapha wore a regular wedding suit, his family, King Idowu and Queen Olori wore their traditional Nigerian dress. The Prince brought with him a huge entourage included family members, officials and chiefs.

Sad news. He was one of a few royals who suffered from covid.

He had six wives and 27 children at the time of his death. One of his children died last year.

His senior or 'Great wife' was Princess Mantfombi Dlamini of Estiwani. She is a sister of Mswati III.

As I understand there is no clear heir to the throne. But the most likely would be Prince Misuzulu Zulu the eldest son of his senior wife as he has royal blood on both sides.
