How sad for the family to have 2 deaths so close to each other!
Apparently he didn't. Other members of the House of Hannover attended (his sons Ernst August and Christian, his brother Heinrich with his wife, his sister Alexandra with her husband the Prince of Leiningen and children), and even his former wife Chantal Hochuli, but not him.I hope this time Prince Ernst August will attend her Funerals. She was his Father's second wife.
Donata, Duchess of Oldenburg, née Countess zu Castell-Rüdenhausen, widowed Princess of Prussia, died at Traunstein on 5 September.
She was born at Rüdenhausen on 20 June 1950 as third of eight children and only daughter of Siegfried Fürst zu Castell-Rüdenhausen (1916-2007) & his wife Irene, née Countess zu Solms-Laubach (1925-2006). She married firstly, in Rudenhausen on 24 May 1975, Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia (1944-1977), by whom she had two children, of whom the son, Prince Georg Friedrich (b.1976), is the current head of the Prussian Royal House. She married secondly, in Rudenhausen on 9 February 1991 Duke Friedrich August of Oldenburg (b.1936) who was previously (from 1965 to 1989) married to Princess Marie-Cecile of Prussia (b.1942) by whom he has three children: Paul (b.1969), Rixa (b.1970) & Bibiane (b.1974).
She is survived by her second husband, son, mentally disabled daughter Cornelie-Cecile (b.1978), daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, three stepchildren and their families, six living brothers and many nephews and nieces..
