She looked stunning. Definitely in my top 5 looks.

How did Maxima manage not to be a Christmas tree? She's usually appalling and wears too much jewellery. For me, I'm stunned as I had expected her to be covered in ice as usual.

Appalling?Sorry?Really....:ermm:

Queen Máxima during a meeting with the President of Kenya, William Ruto and his wife today, May 8, wearing her Johanna Ortiz dress again:

The brown boots give it a bit of an autumn feel.

Nice neat hairstyle but the boots are a bit much for late Spring!
The colour of the dress blends in with the settings.

A nice suit for Queen Máxima at the start of a two-day regional visit to the Wadden Islands in the provinces of North Holland and Fryslân today, May 9:

Indeed and the hair seems to be styled nicely too.

The colour is nice and a neat hairstyle ,so a good look on Queen Máxima today.

That is always with an Official Visit, than she vamps her style up.

It is more with her pet topics as Oranje Fonds, Micro Credits, Mental Health Awareness and the United Nations which shows Máxima as sloppy as (un)imagineable.

Queen Máxima on the second day of the regional visit today, May 10, wearing her yellow Zara suit again:

Queen Máxima certainly stand out but the dark blouse and head piece don't really work with the yellow suit.

Given the cold, the wind and the really so now and then downpouring rain on the isles, I expected nothing.

Queen Máxima attended the annual B for Good Leaders Summit in Amsterdam today, May 11. I like the hat, clutch and shoes ;) always disliked the Natan animal print dress:

None of the red accessories work with the animal print dress and I'm also not a fan of it either!

This outfit brightens my day

How can you not smile when you see the Queen so attired? She wears her clothes, they don’t wear her.

I’ve frequently seen leopard accessories worn with red, but it’s a very dramatic look when reversed!

And she has a great manicure.

The dress is nice but her hair is messy underneath the hat,not sure why you would get so dressed up and not pay attention to your hair.
The coat draped like a cape looks uncomfortable expecially when she went to cut the ribon.

The dress looks too short and a little tight. I guess the cape over the shoulders is her thing. It’s annoying.

Apparently there was some confusion in The Hague about the outfit for the coronation. They expected a white long dress, as was the custom for previous coronation. It is not known if this was the original briefing from BP or if the Dutch court deducted it on their own.

via modekoninginmaxima:

Jan Taminiau posted a clip online where he shows the process of Máxima's dress.
The dress was a long one first. But after the dress was finished they got to hear that the Queen was expected in a day dress. After that he shortened it.

Makes me wonder if the other royal ladies will appear in any white gowns for state visits and other royal events in the near future.

Most interesting. I saw it in my IG too. On itself a missed chance to see all royal ladies in long white daywear robes!

This dress is not really an exclusive design for Máxima, Jan Taminau already had it in red in his normal collection and in white in his bridal collection. So maybe they simply made the short design for Máxima and the images are of the long version of the dress, which is the original.

I don't think he would publish it the way he did if all he did was cut the dress a bit. While Máxima ordered an existing model; it was handmade for her for this specific occasion and clearly was made as long dress (as can be seen in the video). He wrote:

Queen Máxima might have fallen in love with the dress but -as is visible by the perfect fit- it was made for the Queen. Usually his dresses are unique (the one with images from the Japanese Salon of Huis ten Bosch, the one with the Van Gogh painting, the one with the golden sequins, the Arlecchino dress, etc. This time apparently Queen Máxima felt in love with an existing design.

The first two were exclusive designs, but the other two were designs from his couture collection. Taminiau also has a more commercial collection and Máxima has worn several of those designs.

Probably now the designer spends more time in Madrid than in the Netherlands, and it is more difficult to schedule the design and fittings of totally exclusive clothes.

Maxima's coronation dress is beautiful and a perfect fit, I would have liked to see color on it.
