Just to say the weather in England at the moment has been in the minus' for about 2 weeks. Warmth is definetely the way to dress.
The dress made it's first outing was during the 2004 State Visit to Germany, so there's no way it was worn during the Golden Jubilee, QueenElizabeth I know it has been worn once again in between 2004 and now, but have to look through though, I can't remember exactly when.Indeed, I said it was worn for the State Visit 2004 to Germany; and she wore it once before, I believe in the Golden Jubilee. So HM The Queen recycles well. I am not a fan of the deep blue and the shawl... We always complain about a "snow, white Queen", but I think she is best in her white gowns.

Could not say it better!I love the shade of the purple. Queen looks great, but, again, doesn't she always? I have no idea what is it nor how she does it, but she always looks so regal and royal.
Royal purple for a Royal lady. How appropriate!9 Dec 2010, the Queen during her visit to St Mary and St Pancras Church of England Primary School
