Author Sir Terry Pratchett is knighted by Britain's Queen Elizabeth II
at Buckingham Palace, London, Feb. 18, 2009. The author shocked his
fans when he announced in December 2007 that he had been diagnosed
with early onset Alzheimer's disease.

and received His Excellency the Ambassador of Slovenia Mr Iztok Jarc at
a private presentation in Buckingham Palace, London, February 26, 2009
The Queen met Iraq and Afghanistan veterans as well as a nine-year-old boy who campaigned for them as she officially opened the Royal British Legion's new headquarters.
It amazes me time and time again how HM,an octagenarian, keeps up with her agenda.Fantastic, impeccable Lady.Bravo,exemplary.
Many of her family members could take some lessons from her.
Thanks for that picture, iceflower! She certainly is a sprightly 82-year-old, isn't she? It's great that she and Prince Philip are both still so active.
She emails her grandchildren and her Christmas message appears on YouTube. Now the Queen has taken a further bold technological step by becoming the first member of the Royal family to "twitter".
I hope her twitter is less inane than what I've been hearing most celebrities have been posting. I don't really need to know (or want to know) that the queen is eating bangers and mash for supper.
