Princess Margriet looked radiant in her red outfit and I'm struck at how impeccably well groomed both Margriet and Beatrix always are at all events,not a hair out of place.

Princess Margriet at the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the Netherlands Association of Merchant Shipping Captains in Rotterdam today, April 12. Usually I like her choices, this time not, that animal print in blue and the belt part..no, not really.

I'd expect to see that on Maxima not Margriet. However Margriet gave us a bit of a surprise with her choice today.

Along with her older sister Beatrix they are the best dressed Dutch royal ladies by a long chalk ,Princess Margriet looked lovely today at the Holland Bulb Market.

She starts to look more like her younger sister princess Christina.

Looks like she was trying to blend in with the tulips ,its all a bit mismatched and doesn't work.

That may indeed have been her plan..

Princesses Annette, Aimée and Marilène attended today's King's Day in Groningen, all looking very lovely - Aimée's red is pretty strong, but it suits her. Anita did not attend due to an illness:

The Van Vollenhoven gentlemen and their wives have always been a bit more conservatively dressed than their Von Amsberg cousins. Already in their young years, when you saw photoshoots, you saw the family of Princess Margriet more conservatively dressed than the family of her sister Beatrix.

Likewise the Von Amsberg ladies: Máxima, Mabel and Laurentien. Tooooootally different types and far less conservative in appearance than Marilène Annette, Anita and Aimée.

Anita is the most different from the four. She is the one who seems not interested at all in the 'royal stuff' that comes with being married to Pieter-Christiaan; while Pieter-Christiaan himself is most active of the four brothers.
