I think she looked very nice today; especially the outfit in the morning.

:)I agree dbarn67, a nice look for a cosy winter dinner at home with some friends, not a gala look, no special hair, special jewels.

The daytime fitted suit was nice, especially the pin, if it was a pin,
on the jacket.

I agree about the un-gala-ness of the 'gala' outfit but it wans't all bad...All I think the top need was a bit of sparkle, shorter sleeves, and up (hair) do and Marie would have romped it in...She'll get there in the end ;)

Morning outfit is perfect - minus the gloves, they are out of place.
The evening -
The cardigan (or whatever it is) is bad, pants/skirt/dress are just bad, the open-toe s
shoes are not for evening with the :previous: not long enough.
Just all wrong

She should be accompanied by CP Frederick - his outfit is far from perfect as well :)

The daytime outfit is perfect.I agree it's one of her best.
But I wonder why she is wearing such an outfit for an an evening event:bang:
I really fail to understand why the queen and her sister are wearing gala dresses and Marie is in a casual outfit with a ridiculous pant or skirt:ermm::ermm:

One of Marie's best daytime looks IMO. Perfect color and very elegant. Evening is a little too underdressed but I have to say this is something Mary would wear although I am not comparing, it just reminds me thats all. Not enough jewelry but I love the diamond and pearl brooch, just not evening enough for this event. As one who has been known to overdo the bronzer....Yikes!!!!!

Marie's evening outfit surprised me. Why did she make a choice like that? Completely wrong.

I don't like it at all, a big disappointment after nice outfit in the morning. It's not enough elegant, Queen and P Benedikte look much more better. this putfit is too casual, skirt is ill-fitting and the blouse/sweater is simply bad. The make-up is not good too.

Im disappointed by Marie's choice since IMO its something that looks very casual & ideal for a dinner at home with family & friends. I had expected a cocktail dress at least and no cardigan that would look nice with a pair of jeans.

I agree with dazzling.
It's too casual. I was expecting more.

Marie looks as if she went to a different event, a simple evening get-together. While I can warm up to the top, the skirt is completely off. Strange make-up.

IMO her morning outfit was wonderful on her. Her evening outfit was not a great choice.

BTW, does anyone else think that Joachim is looking better lately? He seems to have gained a little weight and appears to be less gaunt.

It may be that her skirt became static due to the freezing weather conditions?
It does not fall nicely.

I think this is the best look I've seen from Marie. To me it shows in her smile that she knows she's looking good...you know how it is when you know you have a nice outfit on. :p

ITA. She looks very very chic, I couldn't imagine a better look for this kind of engagement. The lavender blouse at the gala dinner is lovely as well. She's been looking really elegant and confident lately!!

Pretty color on her and overall she looks appropriate, elegant and chic. But the entire look is a bit too "auntie"/old for my taste. The hat's shape in particular is something that I would expect from an older royal woman. Nevertheless, she looks lovely.

The top is okay, a very nice, soft color. But everything else is a mess, sadly. Especially the make up.

If the top and skirt for the evening event had been in a different fabric, like taffeta or a stronger weave of sillk, the look would worked IMO.

Oh gawd no, don't tell me Natan has gotten to her too...those "pants" are bad enough on Maxima and Mathilde!
Joachim does look nice, I think he's dyed his hair dark.

She looked so chic in the blue and then what happened at the dinner:bang:

I was asking me the same question!

I mean she looked perfect at the first engagement and then at the dinner she looked horrible...:whistling:

Although she always looks great at gala dinners...

Her outfit at the dinner is completely off. The navy blue one is elegant.

'Horrible' is a harsh term, IMO. She doesn't deserve that. The lilac top was really pretty and I tend to believe that the long black skirt doesn't photograph well. All in all, the look provided a casual effect and thus, it wasn't appropriate for a gala dinner. Certainly not horrible or hideous.;)

I like it, it's simple and elegant. Love the coat. The bag is ok, but not in white I think. Overall Marie looks very nice. Good to see her again.

I agree. She looks very lovely. The purple coat looks just great on Marie and I also quite like the ponytail. Very elegant look. :flowers:

She looks wonderful! I like everything about this appearance.

She looks gorgeous!
The entire outfit worked. I love that color on her.

she looks fabulous. A much better ponytail look on her than the ones Princess Victoria favours. Perhaps we might see Kate in a ponytail one day...
